This was one of the games I wanted to try most as a huge Mega Man fan, and the experience did not disappoint, I had a lot of fun with it. Gameplay was smooth (jump does feel a little heavy at times like someone else mentioned though), great sprites, great music, it captured the spirit of a Mega Man-like game very well.

A few things I want to comment on:

  • I think the appearing blocks need a stronger sound, the block sounds in regular Mega Man are an important part of the timing for me and I think a more obvious sound might be helpful in that regard, it’s a little quiet

  • I found being able to go back through mid-level gates was a hindrance to maneuvering in certain rooms, especially when there’s no real reason to go back through them. I moved back to position myself against an enemy bullet and went back through the gate a bunch of times

  • You can stand on the small ledge in the boss rooms in front of the door and it ends up being an easy way to cheese Deadeye-Rate and Py-Rate as they can’t hit you from there and will jump into your shots (forgot the name of the other boss but he can hit you from a certain position, it was the same otherwise)

The above issues were minor for me though, nothing that hindered the experience greatly for me, and I wanted to share my feedback in hopes it will improve the game even more. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality, the team did great work! I look forward to giving the post-jam version a try!
