Hey Zombie Rescue Team!

I escaped! But definitely not the way that was intended -- I just kited past all of the zombies to make it to the portal which brought me back to the home screen.

A couple notes after playing for a bit:

  • The walking momentum is really jarring and makes it pretty hard to get around. When you let go of the movement keys you continue moving depending on how long you were holding the key before. Not a super big deal but it made the character feel really floaty/heavy
  • The gun (shooting and reloading) is definitely way too slow for how many enemies there are and how much health they have. If even just the shooting cooldown was faster it would be a bit easier to actually kill the enemies. I kept getting overwhelmed by them until I decided to just make a run for it.
  • The lighting in the beginning is a little dark, but nothing wrong with that necessarily since it is a cave. Would have been nice to have some sort of glow around the character or a flashlight (totally not necessary, just throwing stuff out there)

What I liked:

  • The background music was great. The loop was perfect. I did start to wish it would change a bit but I did enjoy it.
  • The idea of travelling through a cave with monsters (a la The Forest) is a really fun idea. There need to be more games set in caves/caverns!
  • I really liked the floating text hints. Super cool stuff. Given a bit more time, it would have been cool if they faded in as you pass certain points but overall a really cool idea!
