You got this error after *downloading* it?! Huh well... that's new. Sorry about that! Yeah, the game lags a lot in browser, although apparently some browsers are worse than others for web games.

BTW, have you played any other downloadable Godot games on that system? I'd be interested to know if it's my game only or if it's all Godot games. Wiggly Candy Hand is another one that's made in Godot. give it a try and let me know if you get a similar bug... it'd help me narrow it down to if it's an engine thing or specifically just my one!

well Dreamcubedid reply to ya saying "Just to further help troubleshoot, I'm not using Safari or a Mac. I tried running the game as a download, also tried it with Firefox. (I'm using Windows 11) In both instances I got this error." After the download error, I also tried in firefox and chrome to laggy avail. :( I just wanna play your game it looks so cute!!!!

and yup, theres the womp womp right there :( I have played tons of godot games in the past few days with no issue

I also downloaded Wiggly Candy hand and it's running with no issue, so I think it might just be a problem with Lifes a Witch. Btw it doesnt crash or anything, it just stays running on that screen, if that helps any. I would send a dev/crash log as well but it doesnt seem I have that option haha

That's very strange. I'll have a look & try rebuilding it when I get home, but sadly I'm gonna be away from my PC now until after the judging is over :(

I realize re-reading that it might have come across a bit rude, not my intention, I'm sorry!! I just wanted to make sure ya knew they also had the same problem to help with troubleshooting! And no worries, I understand! I'm patient and am excited to actually play this game! like I said before, I just know i would absolutely adore playing this, it looks so cute and I would play this for hours!!! I look forward to the hopeful fix and your further endeavors in development, you're doing great, keep it up! :^)

Its alright, no offence caused 😁

I miiiiight develop this game a bit further - possibly - more levels, make the mana system more relevant, maybe add some actual platforming - because although I am doing another project thats very big in scale, I find it useful to have A and B projects I can alternate on, helps with some of my attention span issues. No promises, though 😛 (except the fix, that is)

that would be awesome! and no need to explain yrself, believe me as an artist myself with an embarrassing amount of projects on the backburner with several on the table, i totally get it 😅😅😅 dont burn yourself out!!! but this could definitely be a great full length game and those features sound like really cool additions to a concept and universe that’s already great (and im saying that not even have gotten to actually PLAY it yet!!) :^)
