Has this developer stopped using unmarked AI art? I feel like I would enjoy the content, but it makes me leery.

Yes. Steam does not allow unlicensed AI-generated content anymore so I'm not using it.
Backgrounds are purchased stock assets. Characters sprites and illustrations are hand-drawn. The titular Core background element was made in Blender 3D with slight render overpaint and composed with a stock background image.
