I think it is because when the fps is low, the delta time gets bigger and thus the player's velocity is also bigger; player's rect is about 5 pixels smaller than the ventilation tile, so when you move faster than 5 pixels per frame it is hard to get inside vents. installing the .exe version could improve the fps.
