Sprites and art are of an extremely high standard. As someone said on discord, very reminiscent of Celeste in that regard. Good choice of colours. NPCs stand out for me though, particularly in the dialogue. Vibrant and overall very effective. Only issue was some gaps between terrain sprites (the cliffs).
The calming music complements the graphics very nicely. The SFX add to the whole package too.
Simple and yet reasonably effective interpretation of the theme.
I did have quite a few problems with the gameplay unfortunately. Namely:
- The jump felt weird to use. I did not like the length of the delay before your character jumps, that you keep all your momentum if you touch the [A] or [D] keys, and that you cannot use [W] to jump
- The first Quest to collect trash seemed a bit too far spaced out. I had trouble telling whether I had left the area where you could find the trash or not.
- I'd say that Camps should warm you faster. No point in making the player wait around.
With all that said; Aesthetically excellent game that needs some more work on the Gameplay and Design aspects of it. Still a very good submission. Nice job!
