Thanks a lot Travis! Yeah the respawn-at-start aspect is my number regret for sure. I spent about 2 hours in blender in the final hours of the jam working on checkpoint hitboxes and applying their rotation to the character but I kept running into a problem where the player would respawn facing the wrong way. Then I'd rotate the box 180 degrees in blender, export, reload, and somehow they'd still be facing a random wrong way. Then I added child boxes to the checkpoint hitboxes to try and get the player to face the child boxes after they respawned at the hitbox, and somehow it still wasn't working, so I had to scratch it.
