This is a really charming game. The hand drawn art is surprisingly effective, and it does a great job of helping you identify the purpose of cards at a glance. The enemy designs are really adorable.
One thing I really appreciated about this game is that it often tells you the results of a risky choice up front, and always at least tells you what price you'll have to pay. That's refreshing compared to if the game had leaned into the dice games = chance angle and had made everything a big blind risk. In other words I thought it was nice that the combat game play is based on a balance of skill and chance but the rewards mostly aren't based on chance, that's a big quality of life benefit.
