I loved the graphics, atmosphere, the sound and general presentation (including the mini map). It certainly fits in with the theme as well.
The jump was difficult to figure out. I can do it now I've practiced, but it is not intuitive. On the plus side, it means that when I succeed to use the ropes it feels like a victory, and it does add some challenge to the game and makes the level navigation more interesting.
While unfinished in places (poor Emily), the game does include a lot of nice touches that I don't see in some full Metroidvania clones, and so thought has clearly gone into the design of this game. The idea for the boss at the end was fun too, and that added to the variety of the gameplay.
The game is fun, and I hope that you continue to develop and polish this title to make it even better in the future. I don't think it really needs to be any longer, as it was a nice length - but it did end a bit abruptly, so it would be nice if there was more of a sense of victory after defeating the final boss.
