You should create the game you want to play. At the same time, if you can support other playstyles, it’s always nice to let people play your game they way they want to.

It might be some effort, but you could create settings for “classic” and “modern” controls and allow users to decide which they want. Whether that effort is worth it or not, is up to you and how you want to spend your time.

That's true! I've been thinking the same thing. One problem is that I'm figuring out both a new engine and programming in general as I go haha, but if I can figure it out I will probably add it as an option
