Wanted to ask if there was any support for modifying the input delay. I could just be bad at the game (I'd like to think I'm good at Rhythm Heaven, lol), but I think being able to adjust the timing, either by a calibration or just a adjusting a millisecond setting, esp. for a PC rhythm game, would be a good quality of life feature.
I second this. I gave most of the default remixes a try as a Rhythm Heaven veteran—first with a controller, and then with the keyboard. Neither changed the fact that doing what felt natural to me led to most inputs being registered as "too late", with noticeable improvements when I'd force myself to hit the button slightly ahead of time.
Needless to say, that's...not really the most pleasant way to play a rhythm game 😅
Rhythm heaven fundamentally does not work with calibration. the visual and audio feedback of all minigames would essentially require turning back time if we wanted to implement offset unlike other games where the input can be easily changed or set late. We do eventually plan on implementing a custom audio engine a-la Bits & Bops to reduce latency to almost nothing, though.
