I think this game was a really interesting concept, but lacked player feedback to be clear how I can achieve the game's goal. I could see the shades of color changing, but I was like, "how red does it need to be?". I wasn't sure if I was getting closer or further from the goal sometimes. "Wait...is that getting more red or more purple now?"
Perhaps something a bit more clear-cut would work well for this, where you can see clearly defined stages of progression. One eyed blobs breed to make two-eyed blobs, and then 3-eyed blobs breed to make 4-eyed blobs, and so on. Something with more distinct visual feedback. It would be much more readable than a slight variation in hue which all sort of felt red-ish after a while, and it was hard to determine which blobs I should breed.
Sorry if that sounded super critical. I just really liked the concept and the blob designs were cute, so I very much wanted to enjoy this game more, but I found myself scratching my head a bit trying to progress. Nice work on the core design though! It has potential for sure!
