Not sure what you mean. There is obviously the save feature in the menu. If you're concerned about having to restart to get the new content, I usually let people know where to start and provide a save file if they don't already have one. If you're asking where to save yourself to be ready for it, I'd say waking up in Mahir's HQ for the first time should be a good place.
