Listen, it's poorly written, the dialogue reminds me of a worse version of the Clickventures from the Clickhole website, the visuals are ugly, and overall it's so bad that I hadn't finished the VN. In fact, the only part I recognized is the "12 hours of TV" part - I quit that early on.
Being a parody doesn't dismiss it from being bad.
You might just not get the humour because it's meme humour, meaning it's dependent on you being at least aware of the references I'm making. Since you're referencing a site that hasn't been relevant in years, I'll assume you're out-of-touch. Considering that, it is impressive that you made it to the 12 hours of TV part because, well, that's actually a farther distance into the game than you seem to think, which is impressive for a game that you're saying you hate.
Anyways, as for the references, I'll just explain them to you briefly so that, while you might not want to play the game again, you might have more of an understanding of the world around you, or at least, you know some of the famous people and events online that you probably should have been aware of if you weren't fixated on RPG Maker games (your bio) and Clickhole, as though it's still 2016 or something.
cXqUEEN - A reference to xQc, the biggest Twitch streamer for years and in the news frequently around the time this was made for controversies involving reaction content and his gambling streams on Kick.
SisterWolf - A reference to SSSniperwolf who was in a controversy for react content. The name of the character in the story is actually a bit of a deepcut reference, since the SS part of SSSniperwolf actually stands for 'Sexy Sexy' because SexySexySniperWolf was her previous channel.
Tall Charles - A reference to MoistCritical, Penguinz0, or whatever you know him as. His real name is Charles and notoriously he's a pretty short person, hence Tall Charles is poking fun at his height.
12 hours of tv - This is a reference to controversial 'react content' where streamers on Twitch would watch Youtube videos for hours at a time, and when called out for it their fans would defend them. Now, this part was meant to be cringe because that's how the people's arguments in favour of reaction content came across as, cringe, with a comment I like being in relation to Hasan's defence of his streams, which was summed up as "You don't understand how hard I work. Sometimes, I gotta use the bathroom, and sometimes my butt itches real bad," which is a Spongebob reference because the internet runs on memes. This is the part you quit at, which is the part that was written to be uncomfortable to read. The thing is, you couldn't call Ulysses badly written since it succeeds at being challenging which was the goal of the book, and you can't call you quitting at that section bad writing because, if you made it that far there must have been something you liked so presumably the section that was meant to be cringe made you quit because it was cringe, in which case, good job for me, that was the intention. You might disagree with the intention, but you can't say that I failed at what I set out to do.
Now, you don't have to like this thing, but you should at least understand it, I feel, because I don't think that your opinion has much weight here otherwise. I don't think you understand the references or attempted to approach this thing on its own level. What your criticisms come across as is attempting to punch down on what you think is an easy target in which case... erm, yeah, it's meant to come across as a dumb meme game if you approach it in the shallowest possible way, with deeper themes and societal criticisms in you look beneath that initial layer. The fact that you only saw the initial layer and approached it entirely from that shallow perspective is disheartening, but I brought it on myself, so, I can't be that mad, but I can be disappointed in the same way that a parent can't be mad at their children for doing bad things but they can be disappointed in themselves for raising children who would do those bad things. I dunno, maybe if I should have added a narrator character to break the fourth wall and explain stuff because it's already pretty dated and it was only released last year.
I can say that when I posted a brief playthrough on TikTok the comment section was incredibly positive on the writing, so, I refuse to believe that it's poorly-written just because you're declaring that to be the case. Maybe post some lines from it or something or talk specifically about what is cringe about it.
Ah, also, you do know that the site you showed me is a satire website, right? Like, the joke is that it's meant to be bad. So, I dunno, maybe you just don't understand that kind of humour. It's possible you could be one of those people who discover Onion videos and articles and think that they're real.
Yes, I know that Clickhole is a satire website. And believe it or not, I actually LIKE Clickhole!
And you know, explaining something doesn't make it funny anymore.
EDIT: Also, why is the cover image... that?
EDIT 2: Also, I know about the Sniperwolf & xQc references already. And also the reaction-lacking "reaction" videos.
Okay, so... if you like Clickhole and you're comparing this to Clickhole... I dunno, that was always a really weird and dumb point to bring up since, well, Clickhole isn't really a relevant website anymore and hasn't been for years. That's why I initially said "You mean Clickbait," which you didn't understand as a joke so, like, I think that you think you understand jokes and satire, but I don't think you actually do. In fact, based on your comment history, I'd wager that you probably think you're much smarter than you actually are.
Yeah, I know explaining things doesn't make them funny, but that wasn't really my intention. The intention was to tell you what the targets and the intention was. It's like how famously with A Modest Proposal people genuinely believed that Swift was saying "We should all eat our babies," and labelling arguably the greatest satirical work in history as terrible because they didn't get the 'joke', so he had to explain that "Guys, look, the point isn't that we should eat our babies. I'm saying we're poor due to taxes and a terrible class system, but the rich don't care, to the point where instead of paying us more or lowering taxes they might actually suggest eating babies if we're hungry."
What I'm suggesting is that YOU'RE the idiot who wouldn't have gotten the point of A Modest Proposal, so it's funny that you're so adamant about this being poorly-written when the issue seems to actually be that you didn't understand it.
Case in point, your first edit asks "Why is the cover image... that?" which is funny because you just said that you completely understand the xQc and Sniperwolf references... except, you clearly don't because the joke behind the cover image is that xQc and Twitch streamers in general are know to eat excessive amounts of takeout and fast food then leave the packages all over their room, just look at Asmongold's room or the corner of xQc's room where he tosses all his trash. The joke is that it's making fun of how much fast food they eat with the title 'A Streamer's Fantasy.'
That's literally the entry-level joke, like the joke I lead with and advertised it as under the assumption "If you don't get this joke, the visual novel isn't for you," and you didn't understand it, by your own admission.
So, I dunno, I could walk you through the visual novel and explain everything to you if you want, or you could read it again with the context I've provided and see if you like it a little more, but I don't your ego would allow you to do that since you got upset enough to downvote me.
