Fun asmr experience, and cool shader style. Definitely would be good to have some in-game instructions, though you do spell it all out in the description.
One mechanical complaint is that if feels a bit like a normal serving game “with extra steps”. Ie, where you just have to press q periodically show everything, as a plyer I don’t really rely on the sound in order to play (though I guess it’s fair to say the in game character is). Still, I don’t think it’s really playable at all without having the visuals as even when I was right in front of an item, during the dark screen I had to be moving my mouse all around and still couldn’t get the crosshairs over the thing I was trying to interact with.
So, an idea! Something that I think could get you there, and might be more akin to what an actual blind person might do, is “touch things” as you move around. Could be automatic so you don’t have to actually press any buttons, but you could build up e.g. an intuition that “ah that slightly metallic paper-esque sound is by the stove, the ceramic sliding sound is the serving counter…” etc. Just a thought! And to put your shader to good use, maybe after you interact with something for the first time, it starts being illuminated in the future when you touch it again, reinforcing memory recall in a visual way without taking away from the general feeling of blindness.
Anyhow, I’m rambling, nice work and appreciate it running decently enough in-browser :+1:
