I really like the idea for the game, the art and dialogue content. As a sound designer i've noticed you went for a very harsh clicky sound for pawn movement/strike, which in repetition may cause fatique and tiredness for the listener. Same for dialogue voices when pawn is moved. It works well for the dialogue intro, but I would suggest an iconic sfx for each type of figure that is not dialogue.

Overall really enjoyed your project, please take all comment as a constructive feedback :)

I really appreciate the feedback! I rely on hearing aids in real life and I admit my confidence and investment in the use of sounds can be rather hit and miss.  What you say about harsh clicky sounds and fatigue is fascinating and something I will be aware of in the future.  It's really interesting that to a partially deaf person, harsh and clicky might be distinctive and recognizable but annoying to those with normal hearing.  Your comments have genuinely helped me be a better game maker and I am very very grateful.

Your comment reminded me about a talk I attended once about accessibility in gaming industry.  You could actually create a feature in options to switch SFX to original ( for people with hearing ads), and you would have one of not many games on jam that support accessibilities :) ! That would be a thing to share ! :D .
