After inspecting further I think the Squish mechanic might be glitched. Its not impossible just more sensitive than I wanted it to be.When the jam is over I'm gonna remove or downplay the squishing.
These things happen in gamejams, don't sweat it! FWIW I think its a good mechanic, I wouldn't remove it just fiddle with the sensitivity.
