Hover over the (?) next to each setting and you will be explained what each setting does.
Yes, I read these explanations, they could be better. For example...transformation options. What does the “random” option mean in the general transformation settings, can you explain? How am I supposed to understand what this will do in game?
Next is your “candidate bonuses”. I thought that these were just additional options in sex scenes. It turns out that all the candidates except me received combat abilities which they would use to overpower me... wow... what an interesting way to increase difficulty for myself when I didn’t want it.
Next I got to the NPC who transforms the character. As I understand it, most of the options are simply... not implemented? Because even the “temporary transformations”...which are described in your options...do not a stick even for 1 day...what's the point in that at all? Just a special scene with transformative sex...that's all? Or am I missing something?
And don't get me wrong, I enjoy your game, I like the characters and the plot. But because I didn't understand your settings... I ruined my first playthrough. I really want to restart to change some options... but I'm at day 28 in game... I don't want to lose this save.
Regarding character transformations: If you're at day 28, you mustn't have finished the Gleaming Caverns. If you do all of Mesquelles' content there, you will get the option to invite her to the Passion Temple later, where you can get some transformations that last for a few days, and other transformations that are permanent. The transformations options refer to how NPCs choose to apply those transformations on the player character when it is possible for them, which again, requires Mesquelles to be on the Passion Temple.
Similarly, while you're on the Gleaming Caverns, you will be able to get all the actions the NPCs received because of you selecting that option. If you hadn't selected it, the NPCs would have gotten access to them here as well. Whether you're capable of getting them *after* the Gleaming Caverns, depends on your and the other Candidates' actions during the adventure.
I'll be checking again the setting descriptions you mentioned later today.
I have to agree with Feodaron. I had been misled on my first playthrough since I didn't know about boons and just thought the candidate bonuses were, as he had said, extra content involving those tags. I had no clue it let them use the spells we were taught, so I think you should include something like that in the (?) explanation for any new players
