Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 6! My name's Hythrain, and I'm one of the hosts and streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live on my stream.
This game was immediately intriguing to me. The visuals look amazing and there was a LOT of environmental story telling in that room. I noted the wheelchair and pills. When it suddenly threw me into the hospital room, admittedly I was confused. It wasn't until playing through everything a second time, to get what I missed, that I realized the idea was the child was waking up from his sleep.
I can already foresee this game being one of those games that just makes you cry, given the immediate subject matter of the protagonist.
There were only two things I could think of that could be addressed. The first was a bit more background noise. While there is sound for some things you do, the game is otherwise very quiet. Even some ambient noise would go a long way. Perhaps hearing the wind outside and birds and squirrels making noise?
The other thing that came to mind were the puzzles. I found certain spots can be finicky to put the pieces on, and the need to remove wrong pieces to place the right ones didn't feel cohesive for a game. I would recommend both not allowing correct pieces to be pulled out again as well as a function where if the player tries to put a piece where an incorrect piece already is, it'll just swap them in your hand.
Other than that, I want to see where this is going.
Oh, and I don't think this qualifies as a visual novel. :P
