there is a setting called "regenerate data.save" with the button next to it simply labelled "regenerate"- this should fix your data.sav issue, I believe it is located in the settings tab labelled game?
not sure about save corruptions... that might be a lost cause, but some of the "reset save" options may help. It looks and sounds too far gone though
