Thank you, that helps! If it’s every name you try then I can assume it’s not just one palette with a weird JSON issue. I just hav a couple more questions if you don’t mind.

  • Are you using the Steam version of Aseprite or the standalone version?
  • Have you tried removing and reinstalling the extension? If you do, I’d recommend a fresh download just in case something got corrupted last time!

I'm using the steam version.

Fresh install results in the same issue even with fresh download as of writing.

This seems like a path-related issue with the Steam version of Aseprite. Mind if I ask where your Aseprite executable is located? @Merrow’s Cowl is running into the same issue on Linux, so this is helping me narrow it down further.

Hi yeah, my Aseprite is located in the default steam folder on the C drive so:


C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Aseprite\Aseprite.exe

I haven't changed the steam folder from default

Okay, that helps thanks! I tested the Windows version on the Steam version of Aseprite so I’m wondering what’s different.

Hey, I'm really sorry but I forgot to do one of my major steps for scripts. My antivirus has a knack for blocking things in a way that makes it hard to realise its the antivirus... Sorry for the wild goose chase and thank you for putting the time in to helping me with the problem!

Avast was blocking without saying anything the script from happening.

Sorry for the time wasting aha. And thank you for the super useful tool!

TL;DR Avast is annoying
