Yeah honestly, I think most people would prefer a release with ongoing updates and fixes, as that allows people to get their "fix" for the mod they're waiting to use. While also allowing the modder some extra time to fix any minor errors or issues that are left, plus they get the people trying out the initial release to crowd-test the basically finished mod for any outstanding problems, etc.
