This was beautiful, I love it.
The gameplay is engaging, and although some kind of tutorial would be great - the mechanics are intuitive and well-designed enough for you to be able to figure out how the game works just by trial and error. There is a great layer of optimization in the game - I assume there is a perfect winning strategy to it, but I couldn't figure it out, with my best score being around 1800.
The visuals are wonderful - the flowers and the character's portraits look beautiful, the UI is pretty, and I love the little touches - like the picture of a dog in the room (I assume this is the friend that Emma has lost - her dog). And I love how the entire room brightens up when you win - this is very sweet.
I absolutely love the music in the game - it's very beautiful, and sets the mood perfectly.
At first I thought that the arcade-ish fast-paced nature of the game is kind of counterproductive to it's cozy vibes and gloomy narrative. I though that it was... Kind of sending the wrong message, with the girl replaying through her loss again and again. But then I thought that there is actually beauty to it. Grief is a thing that you can desperately try to escape, time and time again, but it will never completely go away. It will hit you again, it will come back - and the only thing you can do is to find better ways to cope with it - which is represented in the game by you getting better at making your own, beautiful garden full of vibrant flowers. I don't know if it was an intended message, but this is what I thought, and it's honestly - beautiful.
Well done!!!
