It isn't supposed to be there, the character moves with the same speed all the time (there was a sprint in the first version which could lead to some huge bugs during monster encounters)
though I am having some trouble with the encasement room. might just be doing something wrong, but no matter where I move the subject the consoles keep saying "subject not found"
Yeah, that's a bug, fixed it in a new version. You have to move the person right above the rightmost terminal (though the middle one has an interaction as well)
