this game was pretty frustrating--once you see that a fruit is a bomb, it's hard to avoid it, and not all that satisfying to get a higher score. I'm happy to support new Playdate devs on itch, but I felt like the other reviews were a little disingenuous.

In games like this, if you can always predict and avoid objects that cause damage, they can become boring. The game is designed to be challenging, and by playing and replaying, you'll improve your reflexes and become increasingly skilled. This is a game design technique typical of games from the '80s and '90s, where the real challenge was to improve your skills with the game.
Also, consider that once a player is hit, they can't be damaged by bombs again. You can use this feature to develop a strategy, enhance your skills, and perform better.
