Hey, thanks for the feedback! We will keep your suggestions in mind for updates and future games. A couple of quick clarifying questions:
When you say upper ledges of the bridges, do you mean where the bridge connects to the landmass?
Do you dislike all the hit effects, or just when the player character is hit?
As for the shields, we did struggle a bit to come up with a way of communicating clearly that a character is blocking at the low resolution, and the little arcs was the best we came up with. If you have an idea about how to do it better, we'd love to hear it!
Thanks again for playing, and we hope you continue to enjoy the game! Cheers :)
Hey, I have been looking into it and have not been able to recreate the problem. What browser/device are you running the game on? The screen.orientation.lock() error sounds like a mobile feature, but this game is not designed to run on mobile. So if you are playing it on an iPad or something, that might be causing issues? But I have to admit, I don't really know what is going on...
Hey! Glad you are enjoying the game. But sorry about the error :-/
That looks like a browser permission issue. I wish I understood this better to give you a good explanation. But you can try adjusting your browser's security settings to allow access to the data. I recommend using Chrome, though the game works for me on Firefox, as well (I haven't tried other browsers much). Set security to "standard protection" and make sure that sites are allowed to use java script and embedded content.
If that does not work, try this: hold down SHIFT + CONTROL when you hit ENTER on the start screen of the game. This will delete your save data. But the reset might be necessary after you have adjusted the security settings and/or moved to a different browser.
Please let us know if it works for you! If the problem persists, then we can look into a different fix. Thanks for playing!

Hello! We would love to get feedback on our newly published game, a top-down action RPG with a metroidvania-like world. We are thinking about future updates to the game, and we are also beginning to work on our next project, a sequel of sorts. So it would be a big help if folks could tell us what they think. You can find the game here:

Okay, we have implemented a fix that should allow you to continue your game without a hard data reset. Try it out and please let us know if it worked!
We also tried to correct the issue with particle effects freezing the game. Not sure whether it will solve all the issues there, but it should have fixed at least some of them.
We really appreciate all your feedback!
Okay, yes it might be related to the update. Though that is strange... Worst case, you can do a hard save data reset by holding shift and control as you hit enter on the start screen. But be aware that this will erase your save data :-/
First, we will attempt a solution that hopefully will not require you to do that!
Hey, glad you like it :)
The experience of starting over at the first area after death is by design. We were hoping that would encourage players to explore different areas. And we wanted death to feel a little bit punishing, since you don't lose your gold or anything. You can discover and open up shortcuts that reduce the travel time, and once you have defeated the first boss you can teleport directly to the home base area at any time, if that helps.
But it's useful to know that some players find that feature frustrating. We'll keep that in mind in the future as we consider updates. Thanks!
