Collision masks is a good guess, but its actually me hard coding that recoil... oops! Physics was indeed something I had to wrangle with throughout this jam.

And yeah, I am a solo dev! So, polishing these is definitely something I will be practicing.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks a lot! Definitely something that I'll keep in mind when learning to make art.

I am incredibly happy I pulled off that (in a good way) that I set out for.

I did fantasize about being to add different ship parts or what not during brainstorming before I set a more realistic list of features. So, who knows! Maybe one day.

Yeah, turns out its really easy to fall into "Shoot to Move". You have mechanics about attacking, and mechanics about moving, suddenly time is ticking and you don't want to add new code and... oh!

Glad you enjoyed!

I do wish in hindsight I also binded the shift keys to the mechanic (or even had time for a more robust input system). I used one hand for pressing space and b and another for left/right during playtesting. Thanks for the feedback!

Being able to control the direction of the momentum is fun to do. Although, the whole game moves really fast to the point it felt really hard to make small adjustments to dodge snowflakes or such (I almost wonder if it's a deltaTime or Update vs FixedUpdate issue?)

Really charming game. As noted by others, the perspective can make it hard to find a person, but it's not so bad once you figure out the difference and it's a simple graphical thing. The controls are a bit fiddly since they're both diagonal from the actual keys, and limited to 4 directions. But jank aside, playing to rescue people and alongside all the cute art grants this game such a cozy vibe.

Decently well made platformer. While you were limited by time constraints the art is quite charming and having to manage or go fast to manage heat is a pretty good idea.

Great submission! The cell shaded visuals are genuinely pleasing and among some of the best in the jam. The driving mechanics feel pretty good. Does traffic increase over runs? Neat if it does.

Getting lost due to the known issues was a bit of a issue, but I won't harp on it.
