I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Hmm, as for saving him... Tbh I don't know! I guess I have to think about what that means and what someone like Joseph would even consider being saved? Much to consider!
As much as I would like to say my dreams for this VN are huge. The scope of the game in my mind is planned to be pretty small... since for now my goal is just to focus on other character's routes
Then when it's done I'll work on adding more stuff, maybe?
Like I really would like to add in more interactions between characters to make it feel like these are people who actually know each other and have relationships... New scenes/endings where if you visit more than one person maybe they'll feel some type of way about it and stuff.
That's more for the future though, so I don't wanna promise anything! But thank u so much for being excited!
Wow! This is a super kind comment.
I also hope to keep updating this game, although I'm moving a bit slower now that there's no jam to light a fire under me.
I'm hoping to figure out how to make an ending tracker so hopefully keeping track of something like that won't be as difficult in the future. But! Still figuring it out!
Hey! Appreciate you taking the time to write a review. Even if you didn't enjoy the experience, you still took the time to make an account just to leave a review, which means something to me.
The game is an unfinished project, so definitely understand it feeling incomplete. I do think by only achieving one ending you might have cut yourself off from some information that would have added some context? But I can't promise even if you did play more endings that you would enjoy yourself, sometimes things just aren't to people's tastes!
Regarding the backgrounds though... I'm not super good at drawing backgrounds to begin with, so them feeling rough is fair, but it's also a bit of a stylistic choice. Since the game takes place in Northern Ontario, they're meant to be a bit reminiscent of The Group Of Seven, a group of landscape artists who painted a lot of Ontario Scenery. Again, I'm a pretty shoddy background artist, so that might not come across, but the visible brown peaking out is meant to mimic the wood that they sometimes painted on and left visible, and the chunky paint strokes are kind of a feature as well!
This isn't meant to change your opinion or anything, just some of the general thinking behind stylistic choices that I thought were interesting to share in general.
Super cute! I love the art, and there were a lot of really funny moments that made me laugh (like the DIY music convo, or the background on Dramon's name, lol). And some thoughtful stuff in there too. You can really feel the love that comes with having treasured these OCs for so long.
I think for using Renpy for the first time, you did a really good job! I'll definitely check out some of your other VNs. The Dramon conversation was successful advertising haha.
Thank you so much for your message! It was really encouraging. I'd like to add more to the game in the future, but I always get distracted (by making other games;;;)
I'm still kind of a novice programmer, so when I made the game I didn't quite know how to do galleries... But I have an idea for how to do it. We'll see what happens! Thank you for enjoying my slowly made small games. :D
Oh man, I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply to this, I somehow missed the notification! I'm really glad you liked the game, and I'm slowly working on adding more stuff to it, though after Nanoreno, I definitely need to take it slow.
The stressball problem has been noted too. I missed something while coding so it's not available to purchase, hahaha!
Either way, thank you so much again :D
I just finished playing! The game was really charming, and I think the really thick lineart style and soft colours helped contribute to that feeling.
The way stat attribution and growth worked in this game was really interesting as well. I've never really seen a game do it like that before, but I might try out something like that in the future. It was really creative :D
Great work!
Haha, en verité j'suis pas super fort en lecture donc j'ai eu besoin de faire quelques traduction (archi littéral) pendant ma lecture, donc c'était pas trops d'efforts en plus.
Hourra! ça me fait plaisir d'entendre que tu as aimé mon mauvais jeu de mots;;

This game is so fun! It's really challenging too, hahaha. I love rhythm games, but I'm honestly so bad at keeping a steady beat. I'm the sort of person who can't clap on time.
But I love how unique this game approaches rhythm games, it allows you to be really creative and musical with it, which is super cool! Also, Maggie is really cute!!
Just went through my first playthrough! Told the priest I wanted to repent, because I thought I'd be sneaky, but... Turns out I was quite serious about it! Haha.
It's really fun, I definitely want to play through enough to see my beloved girlfriend. Unfortunately my second time I around, none of the text is showing up! I pressed Load rather than Start, so maybe that makes a difference. But I thought it'd be worth making you aware of. Great work. I love the art too!
