Thanks for playing! I definitely get what you are saying when it comes to being more clear on different stats and unlockables. The way it currently works is that characters are unlocked by how close your current stats are to the required "recipe". There's also tooltips for each stat if you hover your mouse over them. It's not explicitly explained but it seems like you eventually figured it out!

I plan on revisiting this game. This was just a game jam entry but I think there's more potential value to be had. I may re-do the whole unlocking algorithm. There would be a character select screen, and the attacks are what are unlocked throughout the game. Each character will start with their unique attacks and maybe a passive trait. A lot of game balancing would need to be done as well. There's a lot to uncover here!

Very pleasant game! A bit on the easy side after just a few upgrades. I like the idea of mashing up two genres into one. Maybe a few more challenges (moving platforms or spikes) on the platforming side could spice things up. Nice job!

Thanks for playing! I do have tooltips attached to each stat and attack that show what they represent. I wish I made a help screen that spells everything out though! The character sprites change automatically according to which character most closely resembles your current stats. But I think even that is bugged haha.

These are all great points! I wish I spent more time on the scripts that clears the game after dying. It seemed like a few minutes more I would have figured that one out. Also i-frames was something I didn't think about but now makes total sense! Thank you for taking time to play the game.
