Are you still looking for projects to work on?

(1 edit)

I have been trying to program a complex, classic-style RPG in Batch for a while now and that is akin to medieval torture. I have the basic ideas laid out for the game and have a good amount of programming know-how, but I feel collaboration is the best bet for me. To give a summary of my idea it goes as follows:

GORE is an RPG set in an apocalyptic, Bio-Punk world. A game focused on atmospheric exploration of a strange and eerie planet. Tapping into the horror genre with grotesque body horror found in the bio-mechanical abominations that inhabit the land, including the player character. I want to capture the naturally eerie aesthetic and feelings of those old RPGs, like Fallout and X-Com. Or a similar feeling to the game adaptation of I Have No Mouth Yet I Must Scream.

If that sounds like something you're at least interested in, then contact me via Discord and we can discuss more details. Contacting me is no commitment and is just opening the floor for discussion, so if you have some free time, please consider it.

I am planning on making a physical game. A TTRPG with mech combat. I am looking for someone to provide illustrations for the rulebook. I'm planning on writing the rules/lore and creating the rulebook, but I think adding some art would be a nice flair. I myself, however, am not an artist. I would appreciate any help and if you'd like to help with lore in addition to art or have any cool ideas all help would be greatly appreciated!

This looks very interesting. Can't wait to see it!

We discussed implementing mouse movement as part of attacking but as time grew thin we scrapped the idea. Glad you enjoyed the game and the art. Big thanks to the artist for this project he did an amazing job.

Thanks for the feedback! Keyboard controls were something we thought about implemented but dropped due to lack of time, hopefully it wasn't too much of an inconvienence.

Thank you very much! We really wanted to include more, but time wasn't on our side.

The artwork is wonderful and the audio is definitely true to the Gameboy, some music would be nice but I love the game. Super fun!

This was a cool experience, I just feel like it was a bit stretched out with some unnecessary clicking. The graphics and audio were really cool and the idea of the audio continuously building was awesome. Excellent work for just a week!

Thank you, it's appreciated. We do wish we could add more dynamics but we added as much as we could.

Thanks for letting us know! If we ever work on a revision we'll fix the font issue.

Yes, many thanks to our artist!

Haha, thanks for pointing that out, we wanted to fix it but ran out of time. Glad you enjoyed it.

We wanted to add more mythological ties but we went with what we could. Glad you enjoyed it, despite the difficulty!

Thank you for the feedback! It is definitely repetitive, we wanted to add more enemy types to add some variety but time was against us so it did come out a bit repetitive.

Really glad you enjoyed the game! The team did great with this one and I think our product was good, of course, there was more we wanted to add, but I'm glad you enjoyed what you got.

We really wanted to include a variety of enemies, but with little time and all of us being busy it couldn't happen. Glad you enjoyed it!

Hey man, you still up for it? I'd love to see a sample of your work.

Hello, I am a writer and designer looking for a team. I have limited code experience with Game Maker Studio 2, Unity, and Unreal Engine. I've previously written bits of alternate history war short stories and in general love the idea of creating a historically based game. I like to experiment with mechanics and explore the boundaries of what you can do in a video game.

I can't do art for the life of me so someone who could do graphics would be appreciated. Although I can code, it's always helpful to have multiple people working over the code. Composer isn't required (I can make music if it comes to it) but it wouldn't be bad to have.

Contact me if you're interested in working with me.
