Wow thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Unfortunately not. I decided to restart the project after 2 years of development because it's such a mess. It's currently in what one could call pre-production for a reimagined version. :)

Your video was an absolute joy to watch, thank you. It’s an honor to have someone so eloquently discuss Barbotine in a video essay format, I never thought that would happen. Given the quality, I’m also super surprised that this is your first ever video essay. I sincerely appreciate the amount of time and effort you must have put into the video. It’s so well written, delivered and edited. It’s simultaneously hilarious and touching. While I don’t want to comment too much on the accuracy of your interpretation of the game, I will say that you are very observant and I’m looking forward to hearing your insightful analysis of other games.

Oh and you seem like a cutie too ;)

I've just uploaded the new build with an easy mode. You can find the option to change difficulty in the pause menu :)

My pleasure! I love the idea of the intestine bar. Excited to see what you guys come up with for the rest of the UI :)

Interesting. I'm usually quite bad at management-type games and don't play a lot of them so it could also be that I just don't have a feel for the gameplay. Other players would likely be more intuitive.

I understand and appreciate that approach :) There's certainly an awesome foundation here so I'm looking forward to what you build upon it. I've never competed in a game jam so I really admire you guys.

Thank you, keep killing it too haha! :D

You're too kind, thank you! It took about 4 months to develop in my free time after work :)

Haha thank you for playing!

Coincidentally, I've just finished a patch where you have the option to add 5 more hearts. Just need to play-test and I'll be uploading the new build in the coming days. Thank you for playing and giving your feedback! :)

Hey thanks so much for playing and sharing my game. I thor enjoyed your commentary and also your detailed interpretation/discussion at the end. Good luck with your YouTube channel <3

Thank you for playing/sharing my game! :) Especially enjoyed hearing your final thoughts/feedback. All the best!

Hahah thank you for playing and sharing my game. Really enjoyed your funny commentary! :D

Finally got around to playing Gestate last night. I adore the art style, sound design and atmosphere. You executed the PSX aesthetic perfectly. Little things like the sound when you add items to your inventory, the way it moves to your hand, and the buzzing sound when you're near corpses are some lovely tactile touches. One thing is perhaps the bars/inventory boxes could use a little more style (Like a frame that matches the text style or something).

Stupidly, on top of having a few drinks at the time, I didn't read all the instructions on the page before I started playing so I was a bit confused for a bit. After reading everything I was able to make some progress. I really love the unique concept, though I will say after a decent chunk of time I did lose motivation to continue and ended up not completing the game. I don't think I'm qualified to provide any technical solutions, but overall I think the gameplay loop wasn't engaging enough to keep me invested the whole way through. Perhaps I was playing wrong/missed something and it's not meant to take so long to reach the objective, but I think there either needs to be more to it or it should be easier/quicker to win.

Best of luck, and great inspiring work! Looking forward to playing the final game. :)

Haha your commentary was hilarious and entertaining! Thank you for playing and sharing :D

Thank you so much for playing my game and sharing your commentary. Enjoyed hearing your thoughts on it :)

Thank you for playing my game and sharing your gameplay! :D

Haha thank you! I really enjoyed your video. :D

Thank you so much for playing and sharing my game. I really enjoyed your commentary! All the best :D

Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I suppose one thing about my approach was that I tried to simplify as much as possible without compromising on the vision/tone/themes I wanted to explore. I also wanted to make the project as expressive/sincere as I could. It's tough to be spontaneous with game development, but I didn't want to overthink things too much and just did what felt right. Anyways, I'll be sure to check out Gestate as soon as possible. Good luck and thanks for your comment! :)

Thank you for playing/recording the game! :D

Thank you so much for the kind words!

Thank you for taking the time to capture your gameplay and share it with me. It was really interesting to see how you played!

Wow thank you so much! I loved watching you play through the game and thoroughly enjoyed your commentary. It was very funny and informative. You also noticed a ton of details I didn't think anyone would and I loved how observant/curious you were about everything. Your interpretation/speculation on certain things was interesting and in some cases rather accurate to what I was trying to convey haha. Looking forward to more videos. Thanks again, all the best!

Haha thanks for playing! :D

Thank you so much for the kind words and for taking the time to record/upload your playthrough. It was very informative and interesting seeing you play! :)

Hey, sorry for taking so long to reply. Unfortunately the game suffers from some fundamental issues so it needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. I'm considering preparing a build of it for Itch which I'll share with you as soon as possible though :)

Hi Niven. I believe I have solved the issue and have uploaded an updated build of the game (v1.0.1). It had something to do with Steam Achievement integration causing an error (which is why it was working properly on Steam), so I removed that feature for the Itch.io version. I appreciate you informing me of the problem and baring with me, and I'm still more than happy to provide you with a Steam code as compensation if you're still interested in the game. Please let me know if you run into any further issues that I can assist with.
Regards

Hi there. I'm currently investigating your issue. In the mean time, I'm happy to provide you with a free download key for the Steam release. How can I send it to you?

Thank you for the feedback! I'll investigate and see what I can do.

I see, I've never had that problem before. The interact should work. Will investigate and get back to you. Thank you!

Hello! Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately that project has been put on hold indefinitely after a few unsatisfactory play tests.

Hi there. Thank you for checking out the game. That is really strange. I don't suppose you can send a short screen recording of the problem?

I can't wait to hear what you think when it releases :)
