Thanks for playing the game. Yes, the game definitely lacks some dynamism. I could have added more scripted events and interaction throughout the level, but for the sake of completing the game and avoiding feature creep, I had to cut corners.

Thanks for enjoying the game. You are right I added that light depletion mechanic to create suspense. The flashlight stays at a low light level once you can no longer find more batteries. The game does not stop, you just have to play the rest of the game with dim light. The reason why I let the flashlight not run out ever is so the player always has a tool to help navigate around the base. The flashlight in the first version 1.0 of the game had an infinite amount of time with normal light level you could use.

Thank you. There is indeed some inspiration from the Outlast especially the concept of something wrong happening and you as the player sent in to investigate as well as the gameplay element of picking up batteries for the flashlight. I could add a map of the facility but that would take away from the horror aspect of the game. Although one interesting idea would have been to add a map as a poster somewhere in the first section of the facility. This way the challenge of exploring the facility without knowing the layout remains, and the player gets rewarded with the map.

Masterpiece in horror game design

Thank you, I agree I should have either added more details to the ending or designed a different one. Originally the game was planned to be a challenge game where you would have to escape the facility within 10 minutes otherwise lava would fill the entire place.

You have to find the keycards

From there just turn left and move forward

I do not know in what part of the level you are stuck, but just go though the level again and make sure to jump on the green platform from there just follow the corridor.

Just played the game, the concept is great, like a 2D space shooter but in 3D. Sure, lacks content and polish, but that is fixable given the prototype is fine. I like how the navigation hologram is similar to the one from Outer Wilds. Also got major Outer Wilds vibes overall from this for some reason, more so in the sandbox level, where  I did  not encounter any  enemies. I guess just flying in space is cool. I could get it running on Linux but on Windows graphics were glitching due to a bit outdated drivers. I am not sure why but given Unreal it should work even with older drivers unless you are using the very latest graphics APIs or if  support for older drivers or hardware is not enabled.

Fantastic game! Sure art is lacking but the gameplay was engaging . Finished all levels. If you ever revisit this project please just make the player fall faster past a certain point so it does not take a long time before level restarts.

I really liked this prototype, gave me a feeling of nostalgia. The depths level had a great flow to it and thanks for having my name in the credits.

Thanks for your review. I fixed the bug with the barrels in the new updated version. Also just released the game with more levels at https://alexmax.itch.io/tales-of-karmirosa

Around 5-10 minutes

Thanks, I made sure to not make the game too scary. Just a simple game for a short horror game jam.

Thanks for the feedback :)

Thanks for the gameplay and finding the game interesting :)

Thanks for the game play.

Thanks for the gameplay. Be sure to check out other games from the Two-Minute Horror Jam.

Thank you for making this amazing software. I am working on a game similar to Wolfenstein 3D and this tool made my life easier for designing 2D characters.

Thanks for your review, sorry I am responding well over 3 year later, I hope everything is great with your game development projects. I did made an update to the game  couple months ago and added more user friendly interface and also fixed the physics bug in the rider's code and now the character does not goo too fast .  I also made the game open source and it can be opened in Unity game engine.

Thanks for a lenghty responce and video about the game. I am really happy that people make reviews about this small game for a two minute horror game jam. The game has a flashlgight so that is the reason why the corridors are dark. As far as the elevator goes, I agree it is a bit fast. I must also point out that the you missed the ending of this game in the lets play video, if you replay the game and turn left instead of right when you reach top level you will find a room with a computer and from there on you will see the ending of this game.

Thanks for playing the game and making a video about it.

I am glad you found the game interesting.
