This means a lot to me, thank you so much. If you like this one I have another one in the same "webcomic"/short form VN, and a more interactive gamebook (same characters but much different artwork, and the setting tone was less adult when i made that) where  you get to interact with the characters as their new roommate and do attribute checks, it's more of an RPG.

yes the windows version  always plays better, but no  one ever wants to download anything.  It's the animations that do it, and some of visual tricks like the interruption thing also can cause a bit of a stutter over the itch platform. I'll upload  the windows and mac version tonight, thank you for the advice

This game is FOR ADULTS (18+). It contains no nudity, but does contain:

- a lot of marijuana usage and the glorification of it, including a minigame inviting the player to participate (this is optional and has no effect on gameplay)

- coarse and lewd language

- adult situations

In addition, there is one scene with a strobing effect. While I can't be sure, there is always an outside chance this might affect people that are epilleptically sensitive to that sort of thing. It's clearly marked in the game when this is going to happen.

**ANDY & ROB PRESENTS!: AWARD##

"The Ridin' High!": Play This Banger Whilst Partaking

The Reason:

Amazing level design, hat's fuckin' off, one coder to another... getting that much output from under the hood with such limited resources demands a "hard 'R'" respect. Beyond that and fanboying aside, gameplay is fun and rewarding, given the interplay between frenetic (often desperate) action and the other "sense elements", like the love given the sprites, and the care evident in the music and sound. It's pretty obvious a lot of heart went into every element of this. Getting that first sword really has that feeling reminiscent of when pac-man gets a power up and the hunter suddenly becomes the hunted. Love the music to, really sets the appropriate tone for the spooky feel of the game... sfx are crisp n' fuckable. I took a tasty, almost kingly rip off the g-bong last night and zoned out for an hour. Ya boy is no lightweight, so that's pretty rare. That's why this gets a Ride-y award.

Thank you! And thank you for hosting me and getting my work out there.

Thank you! And thanks for the understanding and the follow. I didnt *exactly* learn to code with python for this, I had been using it in a prior life for API integrations for a long time, but this was certainly the first time I've made a game with it and there was a pretty steep learning curve. Keep reading, we've learned a lot from this process and the next one is going to incorporate and build on everything we did here and so much more.

I noticed him down there, seems like he's a fan. Glad he brought you along for the ride! Keep reading, there's more to come.

Thank you! Always nice hear from a fan. Keep up the writing practice, you'll get there bud. Happy you liked the effects! Maybe consider changing your handle tho, it's a little disrespectful to the community.

Rob

Thank you! Flattery will get you everywhere. We've got another coming in Halloween, stay tuned.

Thank you! It was a pleasure to make, glad you enjoyed it. Be on the lookout for the next this Halloween.

Finally releasing the game to the public. A few quick things:

  • I've taken a lot of the beta feedback to heart and implemented the ideas during the soft release. I went back in and tweaked a bunch of the audio, added some new background music, etc.
  • I'm having massive issues getting the game to play appropriately on itch's nested web player, particularly the audio. The opening video also does not play. In addition, I don't want to encourage people to play this on mobile using the web player, since that ruins the experience. Until I can get at least the audio worked out, I won't be offering the book on the web player as an option. As of now, this is only available for download on mac and pc.
