I've always been intrigued by W. W. Jacobs work on "The Monkey's Paw" and to see a futuristic sci-fi rendition on it, brought a new look to point and click, puzzle, 2D games. From the ambience to the idea of facing a non-moveable creature; just a supernatural item, with consequential promises to the wishes granted, just brings the beauty of it all back to the og story.

Pros: [Subjective]

The Artistic outlook was quite an enjoyable atmosphere. It was dense and compact; but every piece was detailed, giving shadow, highlights, and graphical improvement, upon which most 2D games lack. The Puzzles were short and sweet, with some form of a rewarding  feeling after figuring out where one item goes and solving each puzzle. For a game that was only made in 2 weeks, it underlines every essential necessity for game: story, puzzles, an objective, an obstacle, a lesson to be learned.

Cons: [Subjective]

I feel like the beginning didn't make much sense, it was an interesting designer choice, and allowed the player to dive into the world and atmosphere of the game, however, it didn't add onto the story as much as I thought it would. Felt like a filler till we get to the actual Monkey's Paw. At the end, it would've been cool to see the son burst through the door before the main protag yells for his last wish.

All in all this was a VERY well designed game, and would definitely like to see more from this developer in the near future!

Thank YOU, George Broussard, for this well crafted, story driven game, that opened my eyes to the term, "Be careful what you wish for."

This Game gave me quite the thrill of top down gaming genre, and for a survival horror game, definitely higher quality than most indie games I've come across.. In the video, I felt this game was similar to DARKWOOD, collecting materials while facing off hordes of creatures; attempting to revel in the difference between real.. and fake, in order to discern the story. The exception, Guns and monsters GALLOR!! With a good fashioned boss fight in the end.

Pros: (Subjective)

The functions were smooth with a multi-variety of weaponry to choose from, ranging from an og pistol, to heavy duty SHOOOTGOOON; down to cutting limb from limb wit an AXE! Entering and clearing each room felt rewarding as the map fills up to it's entirety. Variety of challenging enemies and a beautiful boss fight to finish off the game. The inventory was also a change in gameplay, having that classic inventory rearrange but with the exception of actually physically holding an item/weapon, changes the aspect of what you can have on you, and whether or not you can grab an item on the floor with something in your hand, keeps the player stationed, clearing out a room before checking equipment.. BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED! Similarly, with NO item/weapon in hand, your movement increases, which furthermore extends that design further.. WANT POWER?! or agility, one or the other.. can't have both. LOVE EEEET!

Cons: (Subjective)

Even though there was a variety of enemies, there is only 3 different types; when grouped together, it becomes an enjoyable experience, however, when there are individual enemies, it's slow going. Through most of the game, enemies tend to not group. I would've liked to get a DOOM styled fight, where ammo runs low while trying to push back the horde of enemies facing the player.

Through and through it was definitely an enjoyable experience and thank you Mads for this beautifully designed game!!!馃檹馃徏馃檹馃徏

This one gave me a "What do you think?" interpretation typa vibe. Coming from the deepened iceberg of borderline lucid dreams or nightmares, the value behind determining what you believed shaped your protagonist story, is what made the game a top valued genre.

Pros: [Subjective]

It was short, sweet, and simple, yet had that deep thinking for your psyche.

The colorful aspect made every piece of art have it's own defining nature to the scenery, with a mixture of blue, yellow, and red tints to lead that highlighter dreamy like feeling.

The horror was subtle, mainly atmospheric, however giving off a very creepy, keep you on edge feeling; safe.. yet.. uneasy.

Cons: [Subjective]

I wish there was a little bit more story structure, so I could know what the game was fully about, why there were others, whether or not they were real, and how I got this same cognitive dream that previous people had before me.. rather than leading to interpretation, however, with what was in front of me, it kept me coming back for more.

Thank you for this intriguing out of the ocean of deathly nightmarish screams.. appreciate chu developer Abstract Machine!!

This was by far one of the most enjoyable moments of my gaming career.. weird to say.

Pros: [Subjective]

The story had a fulfilling plot, with twists and turns, and trying to piece it together with the secret documents made it even more enjoyable to return for a secondary playthrough.

I also LOVED the business mans jumping at me when trying to capture Theo during the chase and protocol 44 scene/achievement.

When it came to the tones and colors, the ability to intermix, yet give every object it's own variety of colors and tones really gives the black and white space some vibrancy, which is definitely hard to conquer considering how little tones you are actually able to work with. Than to splash it off with that "Leave Color" blue vivaciousness, was like seeing a hero overcome the obstacles or an ocean of red.

Cons: [Subjective]

Since it's considered a "Chapter 1" and not a Prologue or Demo, I can see why there was lee way in the beginning, but it was a bit on the slower side. Mainly because of all the reading, which a lot of people would like to stop a do. But when it comes to pacing within the story or plot, it became kinda hard to keep retention. Afterwards, it got a whole lot cooler!

The Eldrich Rich horror, aka, LixTulu..

This was quite an intriguing guise of a game. The fact that there is this unseen creature, but the feeling of it being more on the bigger scale gave a sense of smallness. I felt more of a claustrophobic feeling as the drowning death scene played, definitely gave that thalassophobia! Especially the closer you get to that death animation.

The game was full filling, taking adventure into the deep unknown, adding that FNAF "GET THE HELL OUT MY ROOOM YAH B!TCH!" Aspect inner mixed with the We Need To Go deeper Fixer Upper feeling, truly made for a compelling plot twist in the end.

!SPOILERS!

Tho, and I'm probably wrong. The Summoning of LixTulu ending was probably my WTF Fav.

Cons:(Opionated)

I believe this game gave more of a tense or objected orientated feeling, rather than the horror it was attempting. The need to fix holes and running back and forth felt tedious. I think giving a break, the feeling of calmness before the storm, would've added a more genuine scarcity and unknowingness to the creature. Since it started to become easier to learn and guess what the creature was going to do next. As this game was mainly generated through timers, giving the player a sense of misguided safety would've been quite fulfilling!

Anyway.. THANK YOU LIXIAN FOR ANOTHER WONDERFULLY CRAFTED GAME!

THIS IS MY LET'S PLAY FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO WATCH

The game was intriguing.. I'm getting a Silent Hill/Resident Evil Vibe, It has that survival horror aspect that a lotta games miss.

It was a little slow in the beginning, but it adds that FOMO(Fear of Missing Out) feeling when it comes to wanting to know what's on the ANT FARM! And Sokolov, I'm guessin the Scientist mad type, really makes me wanna know!

Now I GOTTA KNOW!

Props to the creator and hope your characters don't seize to exist LOL

Video For the game Here:

ps.. I'm a good Samaritan, but why the trash? XD

I know I'm late, but this game was worth it! I enjoyed the aspect, artistic rendition, and the idea of the games foundation.

I was confused on "The Agency" at the end, the reason behind the agency's way of brain washing the detective, and also why these frogs were coming out of nowhere, how were people being turned into frogs and what not. I WANNA KNOW THE MYSTERIES!

All n all, a HORROR FILLED EXPERIENCE!馃檹馃徏

This game gave me a thrill of FRIGHT!

Deepened by the state of the broken glassed veil.. do we seek out the Monsters of our worst NIGHTMARES!

The game ran smoothly and was expressed through a perfected style. It was intriguing to play backwards with a mirror.. It was wobbly at first. But it got easier afterwards.

The problem I ran into, is that I ended up losing the need of the mirror after realizing that I could play through sound. You can locate the demon, or monster through the sound of the water, esc, Davy jones locker music lmao.

I didn't quite understand the story other than the MA had a mirror, which caused a monster to leak into the real world.. Would LOVE to see how this is possible when and if the game comes out on FULL RELEASE..

Thank you for this swell game!馃檹馃徏

I got a chance to play your game, if you end up reading this..

The ambiance gave me a thrill of a time.. It gave me personally, a phycological feeling of distress. I heard footsteps that weren't really there. And hearing the actual cues within the game of the vault door opening in the other room for the Main Antagonist. Made me just start having trouble determining what is going on in game, and what is going on in my own mind.

The antagonist, wasn't per say, "scary"

The ambiance is what gave it the creepiness it needed to set that unknown threat..

Really appreciating game, I may not know 100% all the cultural meaning behind the "Spanish Horror Experience" aspect, however, from a third-party viewing, it raised a great inspiration to dive more into the game!

Of course no prob! Thanks for makin it! Looking forward to this game's progress!馃檹馃徏

I had fun with this game, I never got a chance to play any game similar to PT.. But the aspect and idea behind this one was incredible!

It does need polishing, however, what's there is quite a phenomenal feat..

The only problems I had was restarting twice because of bugs, the bedroom's bed closest towards the back wall, would glitch, so I'd walk over towards the corner and get stuck. Not being able to jump, etc..

I had some lighting issue, I restarted it and that made it better too. It also had to do with my part in IRL with my lights lol!

The Story was amazing, The amount of 'WTF" given to me while listening to that monologue from the radio began the terror gifted to me while pursuing the house.

All and All, GOOD JOB!

I'm truly enjoying this Interactive Fiction Game! And the people who are watching, are enjoying it too!

And I'm glad to be of help, whether it's something as simple as playing this amazing game XD

It's actually crazy people haven't taken the time to enjoy what this game novella has to offer. THEY MISSIN OUT! XD

Hopefully those who watch will go out and play it themselves too!

Appreciate the bug fix! They were simple things here and there, so all good, can't wait to hop back into it!馃檹馃徏

WELCOME TO WHIMSEY WORLD! WHO WANTS BLOOD?!

I'm still currently playing this game.. And by no means am I an exceptional reader.. BUT LET ME TELL YAH!

The Saw Franchise has been and will always be my number 1 movie series.

And this game gives me that "gameshow" type of vibe. The writing is incredible, and it drives me to want to continue to play the game. The ambiance, the sound design, the choices, it's exquisite.

There were a few words and sentences that were tangled in the reading. BUT THE LORE.. THE LORE! XD

Thank you for this wonderfully designed game, and as I continue to play this game.. I will share thine Journey!

I GOT TO PLAY THIS GAME ON MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY! And DID EVERYTHING FOR GRANDMAW!馃槇

This was by far one of the best "Hand-Drawn" Esq. horror games out there!

The story dissolves from this cutsie, yet dark tale of a "GOOD BOY" to the bloodied loneliness presented forth at the end of the game.

I didn't notice any bugs other than some textual disappearances(I'd just click on the object again to continue reading)..

I also got thrown around by the toy blocks(Tho I'd keep that cause it was fun XD).

This simplistic game gave more depth than most originally crafted games released by major studios. So you definitely have a future ahead of you!

At the end closer towards the third ending.. I'd suggest throwing in some mini fights.. or an objective that requires us to use the knife more often.. since we gain it so early in the level.

The Color scheme was gorgeous and that cinematic outro of the first ending was pure gold!

Thank you! thealphagurlux for such an amazing game! And I'm glad I got to play it on such an important date!馃槃馃檹馃徏

In THIS Subway.. EVERYTHING IS ALIVE! and they're coming for YOU

This game was one hell of an intriguing one.

The U.I. was indeed short and sweet - Signs of health status was a little difficult to understand, up until my mans was hunched over and coughing for air XD.

The inventory was one simplistic and easy to use feature within the game. Go to an object, inventory, find item. BAM, your in. Really wish this feature was used more than just attempting to drag and item around or better yet.. Forget you even had the item in the first place LMAO!

When it came to the puzzles.. I have nothing to say, they we're indeed genuine and a brilliantly designed part of the game.. I'm just too much of an idiot to figure them out.. Took me an extra 30mins XD

The fighting in the game gave me a rush of adrenaline! The only thang I would suggest is a small step back dodge button, and if the enemy could attack while moving.. giving a more aggressive fight.

THE STORY WAS MINT! It was one of those styles of side questing.. You can piece together the story right from the clues given..

(MAYBE SPOILERS!)My take on it.. The father, Roman, age 52.. Is going through "POST TRUAMA" from a serious situation that occurred leading to his daughter's untimely DEATH!.. This could lead to him possibly down the road, towards, alcohol, or drugs.. leading to a Psychedelic trip.. AKA "I need to wake up".

Any who, WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND PLAYING THIS GAME! THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING US TO ENJOY IT!

AND I HOPE YOUR SOLO DEVELOPMENT PROCESS GETS YAH UP THERE! I'LL BE KEEPING AN EYE ON THIS PROJECT!

Always appreciate a good SPOOPY game! I'm really humble to have had you take your time to watch my "Let's Play"! And am looking forward to the next installment or completely sperate story you'll come up with!馃槃馃檹馃徏

Just Finished the Game!

It was MINT.. No lag or bugs shown..

The fact that you can piece together the story as it progresses, and collect all the clues to lead you to that.. MMM MMM SPECIAL SECRET ENDING.

It was worth the extra 30mins I promise you that XD

The Puzzles were easy and understandable.. so I could focus more on the ambiance and what was around me rather than spending an eternity on a single puzzle(THANK YOU FOR THAT!)

I have no idea however what that.. interdimensional portal went too. But GOOGLY MOOGLY did it give me one hell of a WTF moment XD.

Thank you for the time you spent on this amazing game. It will forever be in my heart as a motivation toward the point and click horror game industry!馃檹馃徏
