We are still taking inspiration from Lobotomy Corperation  correct. So we came up with a neat little concept with hopefully the right execution will make a satisfying gameplay loop.

We plan to have the player collect data when they interact with a Kin. The amount of data collected dictates when the work day ends. Like lobotomy corperation the player can use data collected to unlock information in a Kin's portfolio. By using that information the player will know the best way to take care of a Kin. This is when our old gameplay elements peak out, by making sure the Kin's enviornment is comfortable that increases the amount of affection the player gains from them. The more affection a Kin has increases the amount of reputation the player gains. Reputation leads to promotion that gives the player more funding and another Kin to care for. And then we loop from there.

Currently we're working on the new gameplay features in godot we've finished transferring over our assets from renpy and have the visual novel system set up in godot.

We do not plan on adding these body types to the game. For each one added the artwork needed would increase, far to expensive and impractical.

We're going to transition the MC to be a switch going forward so we can play with role dynamics in bed and have the player take the tole that makes most sense for the Kin they are talking to.

There will be stay tuned!

Femboy will come

Android will still be supported!

New version, I'm not happy with the 1.0 og version after feedback. I feel as though what we're doing in godot is much better overall.

I will announce a release date in due time.

Dont worry the m/m content isnt going anywhere ;)

Yep I completely agree and understand. The biggest reason I've come to the conclusion that I have had mainly been because of the development issues we currently have in the Renpy engine.

When we first started making Monster XXXperiment it was honestly a game jam type of development we never knew it would ever get this popular.

So our vision, ideas, and what the game was going to be wasn't really concrete at the time. Now that we've finally nailed down what we want the game to be whats the strong points and the weak points it started to become clear to me that Renpy is currently one of the biggest things holding us back from the vision we have for the game now.

I will still be leaving the Renpy version up as a Monster XXXperiment Classic. But I do want to take the lessons we have learnt so far to fully realize the vision. While not compromising what was loved about the original.

The story will not be altered at all no worries. The gameplay will feel different but the strong character writing and the individual stories each Kin tell will not be changing at all!

Yep i will leave the curtent version up as a Monster XXXperiment Classic for people to still be able to look back on and play.

Yeah Lobotomy Corporate, SCP Foundation, Etc were all really big influnces for MonXXX. The mangagement portion of our game has always been its weakest part so I'd like to take some inspiration from Lobo Corp during the transition.

It wont be nowhere near as stressful obviously since MonXXX has visual novel aspects instead of rouge-lite aspects. But I feel like it'll really finally reach that feelings I want the players to feel while playing the game and building up your M.I.S. facility.

I would keep the same "easy mode" the current game has. Starting you off with a lot more funding than you would normally need. When picking the easy difficulty. The visual novel aspects won't be going anywhere though.

I'll be sure to reach out!

The most I can do is keep the Renpy versions of the game up for people to play and enjoy while making the change.

The first part is what essentially has me playing around with the idea in the first place. The game hasn't received a substantial update in a prolonged period of time, and a lot of dev time has been spent turning Renpy into something it's not.

So far on my discord and patreon as well a lot of people have been for the change.

One advantage that MonXXX has for the change i beleive is the fact that GDScript runs extremely similar to Python, which Renpy and a majority of MonXXX's code is written in. Which should make transferring the project a bit easier than others.

I'll probably release what we did work on in Renpy to the public. But i will begin the switch to Godot immediately.

Which is why i wanted to have an open discussion with the community about it before making a major leap.

I do understand that it's a problem so I want to weigh the pros and the cons with the community.

Unfortunately no will add too much to the already way to long development time

The game will still have an android port, I do plan on keeping this version still available as a legacy version!

Crashing should stop with the switch to Godot.

Yep I'm well aware, main reason I wanted to ask publicly I know waits for updates already take a long time now. But I know once we're in Godot it'll be so much faster developing hopefully.

We're ok.

(1 edit)

The new game isn't a long on going project. It was something quick and fun to do for Halloween so we can take a break and have a breather after developing MonXXX for 3 years straight.

Linux version will be fixed in the next update

I'm not telling you to support the patreon. One of the benefits of being a patreon is playing builds of the game early that are buggy and have unfinished content. That's their reward for being a subscriber every month.

With a one time purchase you and everyone else buying the game will receive the beta when it's ready. I don't want to release anything that's buggy or unfinished to the masses, and I'm sure you would be highly disappointed if you downloaded a game and you ran into issue after issue.

There is a beta. A version of it has been released to our Nebula+ Patrons it just hasn't been released here.

A post has been made regarding this check our dev logs.

A post has been made regarding this. Check our dev logs.

I actually announced recently on Discord that it will be live sometime this month will be doing a itch.io post soon about it as well.

no question is stupid that is correct

Eventually more languages will be added to the game

Good news theres been a lot of fresh progress updates now that we're  finally getting releases out

Eventually

Once the ongoing Playtest of the game by our Nebula+ patrons are complete the game will be released to you all here on itch who purchased the game.

No this doesn't affect your purchase of the game. You will still receive updates when new versions are available same as normal.

You will receive it as the same time as our Star tier patrons however Nebula+ patrons do receive the game earlier for playtesting although their version is usually buggier with missing content.
