Thanks!! Interesting, I am not a big bgm guy so I thought breaking it when dialogue plays would be a good idea but your comment tells me otherwise! I'll have to rethink how the bgm is handled!

Thank you so much for the screenshot. This probably indicates that my scaler is not set up properly -- I'll have to look into that!!

Thank you!! Honestly, I agree!! Tutorial is obvious for controls I've been trying to think of how to make possessee skills more integrated into the game. Auto attack is something that I did consider but it doesn't feel like a good fit.

Thanks!! I can’t take credit for the art, it comes from this amazing asset pack https://pixelfrog-assets.itch.io/tiny-swords . The possession has said to be clunky, I added auxiliary controls but i think i need a tutorial the most!!

Thanks!! Your game summary is very interesting as well!! I’ll definitely check it out when I get the chance

(1 edit)

This is such a nice and cozy game!! You should definitely complete it and publish it as a full game. The initial cutscene, story, color palette and especially the sound are all amazing! EDIT: I forgot to mention the "hero didn't level up enough" part cracked me up lol

This is an amazing game. The mechanics are very interesting and dynamic!!

Thanks for your kind words!!! The art is from this amazing pack https://pixelfrog-assets.itch.io/tiny-swords btw. If it's not too much to ask, can you send me a screenshot? I am planning some updates and would love to fix the text issue.

Thank you so much!!! I definitely agree with the pathfinding issue. There's no pathfinding right now and that's something that I should definitely improve. I can also see what you mean by it being slow as well.

Thank you!!

Thank you so much!!! I can't believe someone actually played till the last boss, I'd have loved to see your playthrough. I have the possessed character just following in a straight line so the follow can get a little jank at times. I see what you are saying about the archers and the attack facing other way especially in tight situations. I'll have to work more on that.

Dude this game is so much fun!! The sounds are so much fun. I had a hard time triggering and staying in solo mode because I had to constantly move and fire so both of my hands were busy. The solo is also basically at the far top of the screen so it can get cut out. The game truly shines once you have all these instruments like it puts you in this vibe. Love the music and art, gameplay is smooth as well!!

Damn!! That got intense!! I loved it. Some text on power up were a bit hard to read though.

Thanks!!!

I had fun with it!! I especially love the retro shader! Some colors were a bit hard to see though (the darker ones).

Thank you !!! I’m working on adding a sort of a tutorial but it won’t be done in time for the deadline. The music one is weird because it loops on local play so i haven’t identified where the issue might be yet. It does have an end goal but I definitely didn’t make it clear enough!! It’s something I can improve on for sure!!

Thank you!! I can't take credits for the graphics though - it's from this amazing asset pack https://pixelfrog-assets.itch.io/tiny-swords . I have received comments about the goal not being clear so I was brainstorming a bunch of ways that can be done. I don't think I will make it in time for the jam though.

Thank you!! I do acknowledge the repetitiveness. Ideally more variation on what you possess and what possessing them gives you would be great. Perhaps thats something that can be added later. I agree that the art is amazing, I got it from here https://pixelfrog-assets.itch.io/tiny-swords.

I think that's the nature of the game. I imagine people more familiar with the genre would have a better chance of clearing it. I have tried a couple defense game before and I just suck at it lol

That was fun one! I died more than I killed but looking at your screenshots, that seems normal lol. Btw I love the lighting!!

Thank you!! I honestly didn't think people would actually read it lol

Great game! I don't play games in this genre much but I did spent descent amount of time on it!! Needless to say i couldn't beat it after multiple tries lol

Thank you so much! The art is from this amazing pack though!! https://pixelfrog-assets.itch.io/tiny-swords I wish I could create something this beautiful

Thanks!!! I did that to gather points quickly too lol

I do think it's a nice idea and you are almost there. I like how the goal is to "find the worthy king" rather than just defeat whoever comes across

Thank you so much! I honestly didn't think anyone would read lol

Dude I suck at games like these but this was so much fun. Shooting a bunch just to speed up and gtfo feels amazing. I also love the overall aesthetic especially the colors. And you've got to point me at the font, it's such a good fit.

Such a fun game! I spent a lot of time on it. The difficulty spike on final level is quite high so I spent most of the time on it.

Love the game. Amazing!! I love the lighting and the clean assets!!

That you! I can hardly take credit for the visuals though! This comes from this amazing asset pack https://pixelfrog-assets.itch.io/tiny-swords

Thank you so much!!

Hey, thank you for the kind words and the coverage!!!

Hey, I added some keyboard controls to attack. Now you can use z to simple attack, c to spin attack and x to possess. You'd need to walk close to a dead body to possess though

Mouse middle click!!

I loved it! Pretty fluid imo

sorry, I didn't see your message. I'm on a hiatus from the 20 games challenge (lol) but sure, I'll try to help you if you are stuck.

I have never made a multiplayer game that runs on web. I'll see if I can work that out but it might end up being on another platform

I love this

Thanks for playing, I didn't think anyone would give it a try. I made this with unreal so the file size is huge.

The words are pulled from a free API over the web and is completely random. I got some nsfw ones while playtesting myself lol

I love how smooth it plays out! I got killed on 3rd level though!! I did find the bullets a little bit hard to see though.
