Oof. My save was pretty much caught up to the current update otherwise, and I have no clue how far back my last non-quicksave was. Whoops. I think I may put this one on the backburner for a little while if that's the case. Thanks for responding though!

I was unable to get deep into Ran's content before I triggered the event that removed him from the barracks. Have I been locked out of further content with him? I've gotten access to the Residential area, and I've made the rounds speaking to everyone related to him, but he still hasn't shown up. Do I need to do a clean save wipe?

I... have not normally fought an enemy since starting the game. No wonder it felt like things were moving so slowly, I was doing the wrong kind of grinding (ง ื▿ ื)ว

We were not nerdy enough, it seems. We have failed you.

I remember seeing this a while back and giving it a pass, but wow has Twine come a long way since I first started seeing it used for game development. It feels like y'all have got a good grip on making this program do what you want.

It's a testament to the writing that I can appreciate how the kinks are presented in game even though under normal circumstances most of what is focused on does nothing for me.  It's also just kinda refreshing for submission to not just be a mechanic used to punish the player. Y'all are doing great and I can't wait to see where this goes.

(I personally found that zooming out some has helped a fair bit with UI elements and text clipping off screen, though the text does become somewhat more difficult to read when shrunk in such a fashion.)

Thanks for making what you make while you can do it.

The "use on loss" items are not automatically used when you lose. You still need to use them during the battle like any other item. Not a bug, just thought I'd let folks know so they weren't surprised like I was.

FIRST OF ALL HOW DARE YOU, YOU MONSTER. WHY DO YOU FIND JOY IN STABBING MY HEART >:[

Game's still too hard for me to finish, but everything works well and looks good. Cheers.

Cheers for the announcement. See y'all in February!

I think the default difficulty is fine, very true to form for a NES era platformer, but it could be fun to introduce cheat codes as a way to mitigate difficulty for folks who want to, while also making a direct callback to the kinds of games this one seems to be so heavily inspired by.
