Took a while, but finally hit -10k gold. Would be interesting if something happened when being in debt too long, like workers start leaving or something.

Also, scrolling is super slow, and trying to send minions to their death takes a long time.

They have a showcase on June 30th, 7pm (Pacific Time) on Twitch: http://twitch.tv/PIGSquad

Scrap affects how much money you start with, how much you make each tick, and how much damage your towers deal.

Awards do not give benefits.

Increasing a tower’s level increases each of the tower’s stats by that amount (i.e. going from level 2 -> 3 will increase attack, range, and speed by 3).

Ascension will give scrap based on what level you are on, clear towers, generate a new map, and reset the enemies.

Tower upgrades are available based on how many are on the map. For example, every 8 Spitballs unlocks another Level Up to be purchased.

Different towers functionally only differ by their stats.

The level of the map is based on the number of enemies killed. Each level makes enemies stronger and faster, as well as increasing the number required to reach the next level while increasing the maximum number of enemies that can be out. If an enemy reaches the end of the map, it will begin refilling the progression bar. Level of the map also affects how much money you make when you defeat an enemy.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll look into the spawner/movement bug.

The map is randomly generated when you start the game, so erasing your save in some way (such as clearing browser cache) would result in a different map. Assuming you are familiar with Minecraft or other such games, there are still biomes that are used in generation and in each biome there are unique encounters, such as the Delta that you noticed. Pyramids can be particularly troublesome if you don’t like solving mazes.

a - There is an autosave that uses browser cookies. It triggers every 30 seconds. What browser are you using?

  • Update: I’ve updated the code to use localStorage instead of cookies, which should be more reliable.

b - Crafting is basically the same as Minecraft, so recipes can easily be looked up. Hints and guides are purposefully lacking, partly because that’s how Minecraft was back when I originally made this, and partly because I think it’s more fun to try something and see what it does than have tutorials interrupt.

Crafting recipes generally follow the ones in Minecraft. So, putting wood in one square and crafting will give planks. 3 planks in the top row and 2 sticks in the remaining spots of the middle gives a wooden pickaxe. You can play around with it to find others or look them up.

Crafting needs to be unlocked by:

  1. Click the “Get Wood” button enough to get at least 10 wood
  2. Click the “Make Planks” button to turn 10 wood into 1 planks
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have 4 planks and the “Make Crafting Table” button appears
  4. Click the “Make Crafting Table” button
  5. Click the “Crafting” button to show the table
  6. Put in your materials in the correct positions and click the “Craft It” button

Note that each square of the crafting table requires 10 of a resource. For most crafting, you will only get a single item back. However, just putting in wood and clicking “Craft It” will give 10 planks, and making sticks will give 4.

I’d definitely recommend making an axe and pickaxe before anything else. As you make more, you’ll unlock other features.
