Somewhere in-between Portal (gameplay) and Prey (art direction)... pretty cool!

Very very cool demo! A bit clunky at times (animations, camera, the usual), of course it's a student project, but really captures some of the magic of the cloak & dagger movies: the witty repartees, leaping on tables, or on chandeliers (yay fan service!).
Even the combat works rather well, especially since fencing is a harder sell than eg guns or magic - and I'm really not big on combat in games in general.
What really nailed for me were a couple of wow moments that felt very organic and unscripted and yet perfectly choreographic: running after the last capitan, finding myself leaping out a window (of course) to land on a canopy, then somersault to the ground, landing behind him and cutting off his escape... all in one fluid sequence, epic! I believe I could just as well have followed another path and not get that moment, so kudos on the level design for guiding me there without me noticing.
I tip my hat to you, dev team.
Hi! sorry about that, all I can say is "it works for me"! If you're getting a black screen, maybe a graphics card issue? This is a 3D game, with a semi-advanced lighting, so a very old GPU maybe wouldn't work.
You can try the downloadable version from the GGJ website: https://globalgamejam.org/2019/games/cat-house-cat (btw I just realized the link is broken in our itch page so I'm gonna fix it right now).
So after a few tries, I managed to light it!... wow this is fiddly :D ! Click once to grab the matchbox, drag it to the fireplace, and click again (the hitbox sucks! for me it worked when I pointed the match itself to the lower-right corner of the fireplace, near the log).
I hadn't played this since the GGJ, 2 years ago, I don't know what we were thinking with the interactions with the dragging, but this is _not_ very friendly.
I still love the look & feel though :), and the lighting! Be sure to turn off the lamp once you light the fire, it's cosier.
Well, that was just... awesome! Short but top-notch quality, definitely on par with some paid games, and even superior in terms of production value (eg some Wadjet Eye games, although excellent, are lacking visually).
In particular the animation is very expressive and super fluid, and the lighting and effects are really impressive! I'd be super interested to see a making of, how you guys were able to pull these off in AGS.
My favorite chapter was the Lady Winterbourne one, everything really came together for a memorable and emotional experience. Can't wait for the next one ;) !
