Probably should be explained in the game, however wood that spawns naturally is in the “background layer” noted by the the darker shade on blocks in the background layer. To switch between layers press the “B” key. If your cursor is in the background layer, it will have yellow grids around it to prove it is in the background. Then you can mine and build like normal.

I am in the works of a downloadable version for windows! Also tbh it's not really shameless promotion, as I am trying to direct people who aren't to tech knowledgeable from games that are clearly malicious in intent (Zip bombs, Malaware, spyware) or simply pages that just straight up have no game. I would never take views away from people that actually try and make a actual game, so I hope I am able to clear that up.
This game is easily one of the best level editor type games I have ever played. One thing I recommend adding is a way to swim in water and change backgrounds, otherwise great job!
