This was super fun! I had a great time playing it! The intro reminded me heavily of Metroid 2 on the GBA (which I love), and it was super fun exploring. I love the designs of the MC, the mobs, the parts, and the ship itself.
Here are a couple of constructive things I noticed that you may want look into if you intend to keep working on the game:
- There is no collision on crates in various rooms or the table/command deck in the starting room.
- As you move to the next room, a mob will often spawn right in front of you and get a free hit before you have a chance to react.
- There is no indication of how much health you have, how many parts are needed, or any way to see which ones you've collected.
- There is a delay after you take your third hit while the death animation plays, in which you can still move around and shoot.
- It's very easy to accidently move to the next room when trying to avoid/kill enemies, then there is no way to return to that room.
- If you leave an enemy alive and move to the next room, if you are close enough the enemy will continue to follow you and can pass through walls.
- You can move from room to room without being forced to kill the mob(s) first, which incentivizes players to jump from room to room avoiding the mobs rather than fighting.
Overall, I loved this game, and I really hope you continue to work on it so I can see what it would be like if fully realized!
