The game is set in space, but also it revolves around exploring new spaces to find the parts needed to repair the ship.

This was super fun! I had a great time playing it! The intro reminded me heavily of Metroid 2 on the GBA (which I love), and it was super fun exploring. I love the designs of the MC, the mobs, the parts, and the ship itself.

Here are a couple of constructive things I noticed that you may want look into if you intend to keep working on the game:

  • There is no collision on crates in various rooms or the table/command deck in the starting room.
  • As you move to the next room, a mob will often spawn right in front of you and get a free hit before you have a chance to react.
  • There is no indication of how much health you have, how many parts are needed, or any way to see which ones you've collected.
  • There is a delay after you take your third hit while the death animation plays, in which you can still move around and shoot.
  • It's very easy to accidently move to the next room when trying to avoid/kill enemies, then there is no way to return to that room.
  • If you leave an enemy alive and move to the next room, if you are close enough the enemy will continue to follow you and can pass through walls.
  • You can move from room to room without being forced to kill the mob(s) first, which incentivizes players to jump from room to room avoiding the mobs rather than fighting.

Overall, I loved this game, and I really hope you continue to work on it so I can see what it would be like if fully realized!

A wee bit glitchy with the resolution jumping all over the place.
I assume because you did a faulty upload you didn't get to set the resolution settings for the windows build. other than that neat game, do wish the outside rooms would match the previous room. Feel if you were to not show these that it would look 10x better imo.

Yes, there was some issues with the resolutions when exporting the project as we intended to export to WebGL and because of some hiccups, we ran out of time to fix the issue before the timer was over. Thanks for bringing this up! I will look into it for the release of the game with more updates that is to come. :)

What an neat concept. I like the art a lot! The intro cinematic is interesting. Although, the video is very, very loud compared to the other audio.

Full disclosure: the game immediately full-screened on start, which ended up looking like this:

The resolutions seems to be too large, but I appreciate the effort to keep the art accurate.

My biggest criticism is that the rooms don't seem designed to be walked into from all angles, especially from below. Most often I died because I walked into a room and was instantly hit by an enemy. Multiple times, I went up into a room and got stuck inside of a hole in the floor. It's quite frustrating.

All-in-all though, good work! Congratulations on the submission!

There was no a lot of time left and there was a attempt to get the project functional as much as possible in the last hour of crunch time and there was some bigger issues with the exporting resolution that caused a hinder to more of he game then expected. We plan to fix these continuing the game in the coming future as well. Thank you for the comments! Congrats on your submission as well!
