Ah, I get it. That sounds cool, kind of like different levels, you beat the first "level" and move onto a harder one, for as long as you can manage. So it wouldn't get stale like a set easy mode might.

Do you think the rotation difference would affect it? I wish I kept the older versions to reference, it would have made it a lot easier to know if I'm just crazy. Either way, I'm curious to see what slippery mode will be like with triangles, perhaps that'll eliminate the issue anyway. Looking forwards to the 27th.

That makes a lot of sense. I do like multiple clears, perhaps have it as an option for one of the modified runs? Kind of like like how bewjeweled has an infinite mode, it's less competitive and there's no real high score but it lets you do things that are otherwise impossible in the main game. Not to say I want the same here but having a small shapes mode for people who want to get multiple clears could appeal to some people. Especially if you find the main game frustrating or too difficult. That said, I'm not a game dev and I can only speak for myself, so maybe I'm weird for feeling like this?

Hmm, so they're not any less slippery? I've noticed the triangles seem to get suck it the position they drop from, rather than flipping upside down, which seems different compared to how it was back when I initially got my high score. I've been trying to beat it again but the triangle don't want to flip over, instead sitting like this:

At first I thought it was a consequence of combined shapes picking the fastest moving ones orientation but it seems to happen even when just dropping the shape, albeit it's rarer. This isn't an issue at the start but the longer the game goes on, the more likely those shapes will get buried under others and remain like that.

I'm also curious why you're set on making the game harder, at least for the "main" modes? Is it just to make it more like the original, where double watermelons are something most players don't get or is it a personal design choice?

Sounds good. Unrelated question, have you made any changes to the way shapes drop and slide in the last three weeks? Also, how did the shapes orientation used to work when combined? As opposed to using the fastest shape.

Any chance you could add a personal scoreboard? Like top ten highest on X mode? If not on this version than the steam version? It'd be nice to see more than just my highest ever.

Alright, buy on release it is then. I'll make sure to leave a review too. =)

In regards to making double watermelon harder, while I personally like it the way it is now, looking at the score submission stats, it seems I'm the odd one out. I will say some of them feel near impossible to get as is, so it may be a case by case thing. Getting it in plusses seems really tough as is, I'm not sure anyone has managed it given the scores. Though it could be due to low plays. I find it weird so few try the other modes, I get the classic is what brought people to the game (myself included) but I've fallen in love with the other shapes too.

Depending on how popular the game is, do you think you'd be able to allow for custom shapes via the workshop? It could be interesting to see what others come up with, assuming there's no easy way to make it an option within the game.

Woo steam page!

Also, do early sales have any meaning? Cause I was thinking about waiting for the release sale to end and buy it at full price but if early numbers matter more, I'll buy on release.

Are you sure it didn't have a sound before? I swear it had a soft bloop sound. Either that, or I'm going insane. Everything else looks incredible, looking forward to the steam release, I'll buy it asap.

Wow, these updates are going fast. I do have a bit of feedback overall. First, is there anyway for you to make the game update without needing to come back and download the new one? If not, could you maybe have some kind of version number in one of the corners to make it easy to know if we're running an out of date one?

Second, not sure how others feel about the new drop sound but I preferred the old one. Is there any chance we could have an option to switch it?

Third, unless I'm blind, there's no options menu, is this something that would be possible? I know less than nothing about this kind of stuff, so I don't know how much work it'd be but being able to exit the game, adjust volume and window size, etc would be nice, plus the UI is inevitably going to get more and more cluttered as you add stuff, so it'd be a good place to put a lot of it.

Loving the game and all the updates though, so no matter what you choose to do, thank you. =)

Squares and the new rectangles do seem to be going at an angle more often. I think this especially hurts the rectangle mode, as a large block suddening flipping itself sideways is sometimes game ending. Getting clean stacks of squares is a lot harder too. I didn't notice any difference with the triangles but they tend to slide anyway, so it seems the less the blocks move once placed, they worse off the change is.

Hmm... It feels like it'd be something I'd have to try to know if it'd be a good change or not.  Would you be against reverting the change if it turns out to be unpopular?

I don't think it'll have too big an impact but if Meep starts getting some crazy new scores that may be why. I still don't know how he manages to get such good scores so consistently.

I'm having a hard time picturing what you mean in regards to the rotation of merging shapes. Could you post a gif of an example?

Love the change, especially since I can toggle it mid game. One question though, was the second smallest square resize intentional? And if it was, is it just visual or is it actually taking up less space?

Being able to change the drop rate would be a much appreciated change. Good to know the physics haven't changed and it's just in my head, as well as the sizes being the same. Also not sure how I missed that you added my score, I must have misread it, my bad.

Also, not sure how games are added to steam or if it'd even be worth trying to do so but have you considered trying to get this on there? I wanted to pay for it but this website doesn't accept credit cards, which is my only payment method.

Okay, so a little bit of feedback. First, the new version has the blocks fall at a faster pace, this speeds up games but it also means dropping two blocks in quick succession so the second slides into place before the first is much harder. This makes the game more random and less deterministic. It also feels like the physics are different, though I can't put my finger on what, if anything has changed. Lastly, the small space you added between blocks (presumably to avoiding the clipping problem) seems like it's made the board effectively have less space, unless you resized things.

Overall, it feels like the game is a little more random and overall harder, which means old scores seem somewhat unfair. As much as I'd hate for my high score on the Triangle game to be lost, it seems basically unbeatable on the new version. At the very least, the old scores should have the version number by them. I also found a small exploit, the score save location must be in the same space for different versions because I can use the old version of the game to get a high score and then run the new version to have it uploaded. Which is why my 11k triangle score was able to be added despite getting it on the old version of the game.

Sorry for the wall of text, I just love the game and would like to see it get better. =)

Ah, damn. Thanks for the reply though. =)

Edit: Ah! It updated with the new version! Awesome.

Annoyed the game bugged out and wouldn't let me upload this monster score (downloaded version) but I'm glad I finally broke my previous high score after two weeks of trying. Not sure I'll beat this one though.
