Thanks for the compliments!!

Lol, thanks so much for the kind words and support!

This was great! I would've never thought of doing a waltz style spooky track, that was very creative. I like the visualization I can get from the music box vibe with a tiny dancer, then exploding into an intense dance with death. Great stuff, I really enjoyed this one!

This track is super fun! I love the energy and playful but spooky energy it brings. I think in-game this would be a great theme for a fun fight! Good stuff!

Very cool stuff! I haven't heard many other submissions really utilize an ambient sound while also keeping the energy for a boss fight, so that was great. I also really liked the panning you did with the synths and bassline, really filled the stereo image. Awesome work!

Dude, that was awesome! I liked all phases of this track, and you utilized all spooky sounding instruments so well. Too bad you weren't able to submit, I would've rated this highly lol. Great stuff!

Great stuff! The call and response from the violin plucks to regular violin to the synth on the other side of the stereo image was great! Very well balanced and definitely gave the spooky vibe, great job!

Really great stuff! I have no experience with chiptune styled music, but I always assumed it could be very challenging and tedious trying to fill the space with very simple sounds, but you did an amazing job doing that! The marimba was also a nice touch, with a catchy spooky melody, great job!

This was great! Definitely nailed the "Souls-like" sound you were going for, and glad someone turned in a track that was inspired by that sound, as I love all the themes in that series. For me, my favorite part is literally the buildup in the beginning, with the dissonant vocals going on in the background, really felt the most souls-like and gives the buildup more weight. Awesome work on this!

Bassline was going crazy! I was grooving with this one, and I could visualize the concept you were going for on this one, great stuff!

Production on this one went crazy! Give off a dark horror vibe with a kinda sci-fi horror edge with a techno type feel and screaming synths, really cool stuff. The transitions were crazy and you utilized gross beat really well! Overall, great stuff!

Awesome work! Really like how well this fits with the actual gameplay of the game, giving this whole project an overall DOOM style with Halloween flair. Keeps a constant pace with the boss fight intensity that I really like, great job!

Gah dang, was not expecting such a rocking track! Killing it on that guitar wow, made it sound like it was definitely made for a pretty intense boss battle for sure! And the speaking at the ending was a great touch as well, great work! (Side note: Not sure if you're aware, but the title says "Spooky Tune Jam 2003" instead of 2023 lol)

I like this one! I feel like I would hear this one in a more fun, cute Halloween boss fight in a 8-bit 2D platformer type game. I would've liked to hear more spooky sounds, either instruments that are usually associated with Halloween type stuff or even just spooky sfx. Other than that, good job!

Really good work! Love the orchestration in this one and the marching style snare really intensifies the track, which definitely makes it Halloween boss fight ready! I would like to have heard the main body of the composition without the thunder sfx in the back, as it just created some mudiness in the low end and would sometimes overpower the composition itself, but other than that, this was an amazing piece!

Cool stuff! I like the melody of the song and the flow throughout. Very "Halloweeny" and grand, feeling like if it was in a boss fight, it would be a huge mf lmao. I would say there were some mixing issues, with the peaking creating distortion (maybe the bass was too loud, it was very distorted on those parts). Overall, a cool track!

Great stuff! Really like the structure of the track and how it constantly will move to something that flows well but is still different. Definitely fits the Halloween vibe well with the theramin lead and the melody on it was catchy af, cool project overall!

Thanks so much!

I really like your idea of chaotic and how it's implemented into the theme of the track. The marching style part was a really good change of pace and I didn't feel it was lost from no transition that much, I thought it fit well. I think one thing that would've helped if there was a bigger break or "chill" section that builds into the chaos would really set it off imo! Great work!

Thanks, I had a lot of fun making it! I'm used to making dark trap beats and such, so I really utilized all the experience and sound design from that!

Like the orchestration and dissonance that the track focuses on, really captures the dark vibe of the composition. Like Buscadon said as well, this track could be really elevated if there were more elements that add impact and percussion, some timpani drums maybe. Sounding good, keep it going!

This was absolutely insane! Your orchestration techniques and skills are crazy, and I am just learning utilizing orchestra elements and composition, so you GOTTA put me on to some of the vsts and techniques you do. Amazing work!

Yes it is my first one, glad you liked it! I'm excited to do more in the future!

This one was really cool! The blend of synthy sounds and the theramin lead with the orchestral elements is what really gave it that intense boss battle feel. Mixing was also well done, great job!

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the game jam scene, but I'm looking to join anyone that needs some music/sound design. I usually make beats, but I've always had a sound that gravitates towards a dark/creepy tone, and would love the chance to experiment into composition for games as well!

If anyone is looking for a sound designer/composer, let me know!
