Thanks! So you can activate pieces by themselves or with the command square. The difference is when you activate with the command square, only the piece with the command square (the officer) flips, while the other piece (the infantry) moves without flipping.
And you're right, it's move then flip. I should probably clarify those both more.

Does the 52 card deck exception to all components having to be on the post card only allow the use of a US style French Suited 52 card deck, or are other standard decks that are used for playing card games also allowed, such as a tarot, Hanafuda, or German-suited deck?
I assume something that is standardized but less widely adopted, like the decktet or glyph decks, would be outside of the scope.
Having the smaller dice range is actually an improvement, but it's definitely non-intuitive. As you decrease dice size you get a much higher chance of a critical success, even though the critical failure rate goes up, so it net works in your favor.
