If I'm being honest, if this is your first jam you should try to experiment and see what works. Maybe try solo this time and try with a team the second time. You kinda have to feel out how you do your game jams, everyone has a different jam experience.

Do you want to team up? I like to program most of the time but I can do pixel art a little bit.

It depends on what type of game you have. A more action-packed one would have a ton of small bullets with a high fire rate while a more strategic game would have a few really big bullets with a low fire rate.

This is a  fun game! 10/10

A short, fun game that was fun to play. It would have been better if everything was contained on one screen instead of a moving camera though, because it would be better for a platformer game like this. It's still a really fun game. 10/10

This is a really fun game to play. I don't really have much critism for it. I do wish there were more levels though! 11/10

It's a pretty solid game and it's pretty fun to play. There is one bug though. When your character turns, it moves a little bit because the center of the character is offset by a bit. This can glitch you off of platforms sometimes. Other than that this is fun game that keeps you entertained for 3 minutes. 10/10

The game is pretty good really. The jump sound effect can get annoying when repeated a lot, so maybe you could have added different sounds. The graphics are nice with well constructed characters, but the theme isn't incorporated into the gameplay much. Sure, you have the rocket ship, but you have many levels of unrelated content until you actually get to the rocket ship.
