Accurate. At this stage its basically a "horror timeout simulator".  I really wanted to expand on the story and puzzles but sadly I ran out of time and decided to publish what I could finish.

That's fair, I forget I keep my mouse sensitivity turned up. (Next time I'll throw in some options to adjust settings like that)

I did record the voice, thanks! It was a lot of fun doing some voice acting and putting it in the game :)

:) Thanks!

The gameplay is definitely shorter than I would have liked, but I think the end result is a nice demo concept! The idea was to have the player explore and rebuild a much bigger environment (singing to different types of objects, repairing puzzles, etc). I am planning to continue work on this game later this year and develop this demo into a complete "short-story" narrative game!

Thank you!   :)

I am planning to expand this demo into a short-story game later this year, probably starting development in early November! (I need to finish my current main project before Halloween)

Thank you!! I had a lot of fun during this game jam :)

Thank you! It was a difficult process to allow the player the freedom to input any note while still having it "sound good" with the background music and when the player inputs a specific sequence. The walk speed is slow but you can sprint if you hold Left Shift!

My thoughts for developing a 3D game were to try something a little different than the standard 2D platformer games that tend to show up a lot in these kind of game jams. I wanted to see if I could make something stable to play in 3D while still having the game be playable in the web browser (usually WebGL games in 3D have terrible performance and issues in my experience)

Thanks! Yeah, its a mechanic I really loved from "Zelda: Ocarina of Time" back in the day, and I wanted to try to recreate it :)

Thank you! :)

I was definitely going for Zelda OOT vibes when I was making the singing mechanic and music!! One of my favorite games for sure :)

Thank you!

Yep, I made all the music during the jam! (Probably could have spent some of that time improving the gameplay to be honest)

Those are some good points. I didn't think about some players preferring the inverted flying controls, but I will make sure to include options for controls in my future games!

:)

Thank you! (Please sign my petition to standardize the use of cat points in all games)

:D

Thank you, I appreciate it! :)

Thank you!! :D

I agree the controls are a little tricky to get used to. Also I didn't even think about including an inverted control option! Definitely gonna keep that in mind while I'm working on future projects :)

Thanks! I agree the controls could use work to feel better and not be so "snappy", it was on my list of things to work on but didn't have time :)

I appreciate it! Sorry you had some motion sickness, I definitely need to improve the camera and controls to feel a bit smoother

Thank you! :)

Thanks for taking the time to play and explore all the content! I wasn't aware of any glitch with the treasure chests so you might have found a new bug 🐞Seems like you also found an issue with the casserole which is unfortunate. 🙃

I agree that a base area to cook at would be a nice touch, and it was something I wanted to include in the game. I honestly just couldn't figure out how in the time limit so I made it easier to cook anywhere in the dungeon. In the future I will definitely add cooking stations throughout the dungeon, with maybe an extra bonus for meals cooked at different cooking stations. Just a thought.

Thank you 🙂 I am glad you enjoyed playing and appreciate you taking the time to leave some feedback. This was a fun concept for me to bring to life and I'm excited to develop this into a full game later this year!

Thank you, I'm glad you think so! I had a lot of fun working on this one 😃

I wasn't sure when I started on this project if the dungeon crawling would work well with the cooking mechanics but it seems to have worked out pretty well. I appreciate your feedback and thanks for taking the time to check out my game jam entry!

Awesome, glad you got to eat the ultimate dish! 🙂 I appreciate the feedback and I'm sorry you experienced some bugs with the tooltips. Gonna look into that and see what I can do to fix it!

Congrats on eating the Ultimate Dish! (It's pretty tasty)

Thank you for the feedback. 🙂 I agree that there should be buff items also, it was something I wanted to add but didn't have time during the jam. This will 100% be a feature of recipes in the full version. Never thought about a system to skip the battle feedback but that is a really good idea, thanks! Also what did you have in mind for bombs in the game? That sounds like it could be a cool item.

Awesome! I am really happy you liked the game 🙂 Definitely want to work on this title some more to turn it into a full game. It might be a few months before I can get something up on Steam but that is the goal!

Thank you! 🙂

I agree that the combat and game in general needs a sound overhaul, which is something I plan to fix in the post jam version! Glad you had a good time playing and think that this would make a nice full fledged game. I am thinking to expand on this concept over the next 6 months and hopefully get something uploaded to Steam!

Hey there, thank you for the feedback! Sorry that the game didn't meet your expectations, I definitely had to make some tough calls in what to focus on during the limited time. I'm surprised that the movement seems sluggish based off the direct feedback I received about how nice and responsive it seemed for others! Maybe there is an issue somewhere that is dragging down performance on your system? Could be something I just completely overlooked.

I originally had animated attacks for the combat but had to cut that in favor of static images that swap out, due to issues triggering the animations that caused the battle system to not work. So I decided to focus on creating something playable and patching issues like combat animation and sounds in the post jam build.

Again thanks for the feedback, I look forward to playing your game!

I'm happy you like the hunger and thirst mechanics! Hmm, were the tooltips not showing up on the food items that tell you what they do? There are supposed to be pop-ups that inform the player what the items do when they hover their mouse over the item in the inventory. All of the dishes should do something. Most of them restore the players stats by some amount.

Thank you for taking the time to play my game and leave feedback!

Thank you! That is a good point, I will think about adding in some extra story and maybe some hidden lore in the future 🙂 I appreciate you taking the time to play my game jam entry!

Awesome! ❤️ I'm happy you enjoyed playing!

Thank you for the review! I would have liked to add more sound effects and general feedback/instructions to the player but ended up having to leave those things out due to a lack of time. I agree 100% that the game could use some more sound effects and better ways to let the player know what is happening. I appreciate you taking the time to play my entry and leave your feedback 🙂

Thank you for your review! I watched your YouTube play through and it seems you were having some issues that are only present in the WebGL version (the one you can play in the web browser). The downloadable versions don't seem to have any of the issues that have been found in the web version. I really appreciate being able to watch someone play through the game to see how others will approach it!

(EDIT: THE WEBGL VERSION HAS NOW BEEN REMOVED FROM THE PAGE DUE TO ISSUES NOT FOUND IN THE DOWNLOAD VERSIONS)

Thanks for the feedback! I actually haven't seen Delicious in Dungeon but enough people have commented about the similarities that I have to go check it out 🙂

Oh no! That is not supposed to happen!! The only way the game should be over is if you die (from damage, hunger, or thirst) or if you cook "The Ultimate Dish" and eat it! Sorry you ran into a bug that made it unbeatable for you, I will work to test and fix this for the post jam version.

Thank you! I had a lot of fun working on this one 🙃

Glad you enjoyed the comedy, I had a blast just being fun with it and not taking it too serious 🙂Who knew bashing things with a frying pan could be so satisfying?

(EDIT: I deleted the duplicate comment on the page)

I haven't actually seen it, but a couple other people on Discord pointed it out to me after I started working on this project 😂

Definitely seems like something I would enjoy! Also thanks for playing my game jam entry 😃

"I've Done It"

Thank you for the feedback!

I need to balance out some of the gameplay for sure, just wanted to get something functional uploaded before the time limit! 🙂

What a paradox! How did you go back in time to submit before the jam started??

Was a little bit confused in the first room until I realized you could walk through the wall next to the bookcase. Overall a fun game to play! (I died three times, once to a fireball and twice to enemies)

Good job on this entry, feels fun to play once you start to understand how it works

Thank you! :D

It was a bug-sized troll for sure (I really just didn't have time to fix this bug/didn't notice it until play testing right before the deadline)

Humans were sold. :/

The $100 seed has a bug that causes the life cycle timer to loop without stopping (only after the sell button is pushed). I wasn't able to fix the bug before the project deadline :''(
