This game is lovely looking. Like a trapper keeper cover combined with myst. But I am stuck, I keep reaching the part of the game where you enter the room with the 4 trees just to get booted out of the game. I tried clicking on them in a order of youngest to newest and that didn't work. I found the green tear drop under a floating rock before that, but that's as far as I can get. Is that the end of the game?

The beta is the superior version. It's the version that has all the fat trimmed out and has a way better atmosphere. The new version is awful. I deleted it as soon as I was done and kept the beta if I ever want to play again. The ticket collecting and new areas are pretty awful. Sometimes less is more. The shadow monster doesn't even show up for me, he's completely invisible when he chases you except for this shadow cast on the ground. I'm not looking forward to chapter 2 after this.
I hate to say it but after playing the final product everything new is pretty bad and destroys the creepy vibe. The beta is if all the fat is trimmed out and only the good stuff is left. In final product I wasn't even able to see the silhouette of the monster that chases you around in the locker room, I don't know if this is a bug or intentional, I could see the shadow of it but the model wasn't there at all. The addition of the ticket system is immersion breaking and a awful collect-a-thon that doesn't belong in this game, kills the tension and creepy atmosphere and so does the upbeat vaporwavesque music playing everywhere. The music worked in the beta cause you had already escaped the monster in the locker room and the tension was gone at the proper time. Most of the new areas are boring and feel tacked on, they add nothing interesting and go nowhere. The movie level and mall level with the mannequin were ok but only ok, the eternal golf level is awful and so is the 2 other areas with massive empty spaces that is full of nothing. Several areas have reoccurring bad level design when you can simply choose to leave whenever you like through a elevator, no need to explore and nothing to be found, no real feeling of progress to be had other than the tacked on easter egg hunt for tickets. I had a feeling of uneasiness in the beta that the final release fails to create to the same degree. I'm really glad I bought the beta version before this was released so I can just hold onto that version if I feel like every replaying it or showing it to friends. Sometimes less is more.
I 100 percent agree with you. Just completed the final product after playing the beta and it's way worse. The beta is the superior version, it's like all the fat is trimmed out and only the good stuff is left. The final product I wasn't even able to see the silhouette of the monster that chases you around in the locker room, I don't know if this is a bug or intentional, I saw the shadow of it but the model wasn't there at all. The ticket system is stupid, takes away from the atmosphere, the vaporwavesque music playing everywhere makes it less stressful and too upbeat. All the new areas are very boring and feel tacked on, they add nothing interesting and go nowhere. I do like that I can run though, I think that should exist and just be a option for people. I disliked the final release so much that I deleted it and i'm just keeping my beta copy. I'm really glad I own the beta copy and didn't buy this on steam cause the final release feels like everything you shouldn't do to update a game. Totally kills the creepy factor in every way.
It has potential but too bugged and difficult without saves. Gun gets stuck in a reloading animation after a few shots. Keep dying to dogs cause my gun isn't having any effect on them, I shoot and knife them and nothing happens. Really hope this game gets a update it deserves it cause it's got potential to be great.
