I agree with @PlasticDiamond. Showing how long you lasted would be a nice addition. Great job!

Nice job on your game. I feel like it may make it more challenging if it was not a binary choice of up or down only. If more pathways were possible, it would make it harder to track. You could also increase the number of agents on screen or play with visibility of the map (night version, etc). Overall I like it alot!

I think it definitely needs some instructions. I wasn't sure what to do. Feedback on the buttons would be helpful as well. I was able to click on a Village but wasn't sure if the Patrol/Rest/Training was actually doing anything.

@Kranker That shouldn't be too hard to add and a really good idea! Thanks!

@BeardedFists Thanks for checking it out!

Yeah, I second this feature. Another similar implementation is User Voice.

If you've found a bug in our game, Thanks! Sometimes its hard to track down issues while you're building the game. We really appreciate your help identifying parts of our game that are not working as they're supposed to. In order for us to address these issues, we need to be sure we get as much information from you as possible. The more you can tell us, the better chance it makes it into our next release.

Please include the following with any Bug Report post:

  • Platform: PC / Mac
  • Operating System: ex. Windows 10 Home, OSX 10.11.6 El Capitan
  • CPU: 3.5 GHz Intel i7, 3770K

  • Detailed Account of what happened
  • Any screenshots, videos if applicable
If you are on a Mac, you can find your system information by clicking on the Apple icon on the top left of your screen, About this Mac. On a PC, you can right click on 'Computer' and choose Properties from the Start Menu.

It is important that you describe in detail what happened that caused the issue. We need to replicate the problem in order to understand what went wrong. Please be patient. We will look into every bug report we receive, but it may take time in order to fit the fix in with the next release. Thanks again for your help!

What is CANARI?

We like to think that CANARI a game not quite like any other, but its pedigree is a blend of rogue-like and platformer games. The majority of gameplay asks you to traverse treacherous caves in the dark with virtually everything in the environment trying to kill you. Every time you die, the world recreates itself randomly, but guided by the designers hand.

Who is CANARI's audience?

Players who enjoy Binding of Isaac, Rogue Legacy, and Spelunky will appreciate CANARI's character progression and hidden loot. While CANARI is not a hardcore platformer, you will need to watch your step. Thumb skills are necessary to navigate LUMIN in the dark without leading him into death.

What is the goal of CANARI?

The goal of CANARI is to reach your crashed ship at the basin of a crater and escape the planet. In order to do that, you need to control LUMIN, a light utility robot that scares away enemies with it's headlamp. By collecting energy from crystals in the environment, you can respawn and upgrade your robot's abilities. If you run out of energy, the game's over and you lose all progress. Players are tracked on a global ranking for a variety of skills: stealth, speed, upgrades, kills and deaths. If you're not a speed runner, that's okay with us. We choose give you an opportunity to be rewarded for whichever way you like to play.

What makes CANARI different?

CANARI mixes the difficulty of rogue-likes with a defensive combat system, unique weapon upgrades that require the player to think and plan their attacks, and an exciting sci-fi universe waiting to be uncovered. Our goal is to create a game that has replayability, rewards a variety of gameplay styles, and has something interesting to discover for those look hard enough. CANARI doesn't hold your hand, but nurtures discovery, adventure and skill.
