This game looks so cute!
I'm excited to get this to table!

The version history was just the path to no longer being the demo, the rest of the version stuff is mostly tracked internally. If you're unsure you have the newest version, it has a T-shirt button on the main menu that the previous did not.

Playing around with your friends on your street, you've accidentally kicked your favourite ball into the upper most window of an abandoned mansion.

Are you brave enough to venture inside and rescue the ball, and escape to safety?

Or will you become one of the Spirits of Carter Mansion?

Navigate the mansion fearfully and often with your hands covering your eyes, and solve puzzles, find your ball, rescue your new bestfriend (A cute cat), and uncover the spooky mysterious of the haunted mansions past.

Can you solve the many puzzle of Spirits of Carter Mansion?
Find it here:

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Guess I'll have to wait for next time aha

Can I add new content to an existing game for the sake of this jam?
Or must it be an entirely new game.
I have an incomplete project that is a perfect fit for this jam, and initially joined thinking it would be good motivation to help me get closer to completion.

Super cute pixel art!

The new Winning Love by Daylight content is out, and there's some exciting story development, alongside a whole bunch of secret content for you to hunt for!

Grab this free game and get to know all these cute characters!

Thanks!

I appreciate the kind words :)

I made it up for the story, but it could totally exist

Thanks so much! I'm glad that you're enjoying the hard we've put into creating such a unique experience. Make sure you come and hang out in the discord server, I'm sure we'd love to have you join us in there :)

There's a web version hosted on newgrounds!

Thanks for much for the positive words!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm excited to release more for you to play! :D

Welcome to a small town. You're just an average kid in their final year of high school. You and your best friend Maya play videogames most nights.

Today you meet a new student on their first day who you're pretty sure is a Demon.

You're introduced to another girl, who you don't realise is an Alien, only in High school to learn more about her new home: Earth.

What these girls all have in common is that at night, they defend the town from all kinds of Monsters.

This is Maya who can control any device connected to electricity. She mostly uses it to crush at online video games.

This is Kiana who has the strength to pick up a whole island, but is more interested in skateboarding and football. The best quarter back the school's ever seen.

This is Emily, from a family of witches Emily is still learning to control her magical fire, and usually hangs out with her friends and her cat at the secret tavern her Aunt owns.

This is Willow, she's the daughter of two druids, and the spirits of the forest have asked for her help!

This is June, after inheriting a cursed sword that talks non-stop from her father, she mostly likes to meditate and try to find peace where she can.

This is Alannah, and alien that accidentally crashed into our planet, and has been stuck her ever since. She's now studying super hard at high school to try and learn as much as she can about her new home planet.

This is SoFi, a half-siren still trying to control her powers, and wears big headphones so that when she's singing along to something she doesn't put herself to sleep.

This is Molly, granddaughter to the arch demon Moloch, she spends most of her magical energy to stop people from noticing her, so that she can live a low key life.

The Winning Love by Daylight visual novel runs along the path of a student slowly realising that superheroes attend his high school. A Super villain has threatened to unmask any superhero vigilantes, as they've discovered they attend the school, and so all of the girls try to act as close to normal students as possible, but that isn't so easy...

Travel through the story of the game which is part of an upcoming Boardgame, and is part of an online webcomic, as you learn more about the characters and their backstories and personalities, as you try and decide who you will invite to the prom.

You can find the Itch.io page to download Winning Love by Daylight by clicking the above image or clicking here.

What's new in Version 0.3?

- Added Milestones screen with eight milestones for story progress and one secret milestone

- Some general quality of life fixes, such as typos.

- Day Four added which includes a big story arc piece with Kiana (As voted for by our Patrons!) and Maya, where they do some investigating into the Ominous announcement!

- Two syntax errors from V0.2 squashed.

- All characters have over eight different expressions!

- All of the eight characters have some solo time with the main character, giving you a chance to get to know them!

Interested to get a  taste of the game before you play it yourself? You can watch a gameplay video by clicking the image below, where the creator reads to you the game for version 0.1, so you don't get spoilers from any of the new content in V0.3!

A lot of jams actually facilitate physical games now.

I agree with this comment, even if the camera zooms to match the block's size would be interesting.

If someone wants to team up with me and code it, I'll happily get on board designing something like this.

The person who has so far completed it the furthest used the map fragments to create a map, and took a lot of notes. A lot of things FEEL random, but aren't and after a while of playing it it should be easier to figure out what's going on aha

I appreciate you having a go at it, and I'm  glad you enjoyed it

Definitely the first time I've felt the need to intentionally hurt myself and avoid health packs in a game.

The theme, the visuals and the ideas behind it were really good.  The dead screen (which I spent a lot of time at) didn't have any BGM so it was just snakes hissing at me constantly, a reminder of my failure. The core gameplay was pretty frustrating, being able to shift the camera based on your speed was neat, but having to  wait an hour to get anywhere while carrying stuff, just to maybe get into the action is irritating, and having snakes too close to the exit and just waiting for you is annoying.

I really liked this, solid art and music design!

There currently wasn't a plan to make a  mac version, but there's a web version mirrored on newgrounds.

It's become more common for a few jams I've seen!

It is!

But once you figure some of the basic things out it gets easier!

It's a small card game lmao

I use this usually

In just one hour aha

When the video on the game's page goes live you can see the whole thing from start to finish :)

There's a lot of good feedback in here! This is my first attempt at building something like this, and all of the art assets come from the development of the boardgame, so somethings will be a little clunky while we all wait for me to skill up aha

Still a great video, and I appreciate you making it!

In that case...

Since the Jam doesn't specify Digital or Physical games (from my read through) Would I be able to participate and build a Roguelike Boardgame from scratch in the seven days?

Kaionalpaca!
